Investing in quality coins will always have more long term potential to make 'bucks' than the latest piece of crap that has almost zero volume to buy or sell any meaningful amount. Look at the top 5-10 coins on market cap, do you see much garbage? Now look at the bottom 10. Plus the focus on shitcoins only takes bigger picture legitimacy away from crypto generally.


We are basically cutting up the same cake in more pieces and telling ourselves we are getting more cake.

I agree with you, just trying to understand purposes of releasing so many shitclones, and my previous post is just point of view of many people dealing with cryptos.

Yes but there is a thing called purchasing power. If we don't buy the crap then the quality coins can receive a more steady stream of investments.

My question is not directed at makers of coins, but consumers.

No IPO coin will succeed and are the biggest scamcoins of them all.

The only reason NXT is worth anything right now is because they price fixed the market.  Selling just 1/10th of their supply gives them enough Bitcoin to rig the market against all new purchasers.

If they didn't try to price fix the market, the coin probably would have much better chance of succeeding and higher market penetration, so everyone loses.

I think this counts for all these crapcoins, but not for Bitcoin. At least not initially, but obviously capitalists are going to try and capitalise. Regarding all the crapcoin alts, if idiots keep mining them and the devs keep making money from the idiots, then why wouldn't they keep making new coins? Simple solution: stop bothering with them, but there's always going to be a fresh new wave of naive newbs looking to cash in and get rich quick so the cycle will continue.
