Can a Mod Please Explain to me the purpose of a ban when that same person can just create a new account and continue posting?

A ban is supposed to be a disciplinary action, No further posting allowed until the temp ban is up. but in this case it just seems pointless
Why even bother with a ban if that is the case? Isn't this just pissing into the wind?

Let me clarify just one thing i mean Temp ban....not sure if a full ban would allow a user to do this or not.
Thanks

The first ban is usually temporary.

If a person ban evades by creating another account, the ban can become permanent.
