quick update on social media efforts: #1:COOL CANADA CAMPAIGN just launched our first Facebook and Twitter campaign at https://www.facebook.com/canadacoin147 We only have 21 likes on the site, so please add yours. We do have 47 Twitter followers. (any social media mavens out there that can be super-active...please step forward...bounty awaits) Here's the campaign: START What is the coolest thing about Canada or Canadians. Tell us and add a relevant (non-explicit) picture or video to earn 47 CanadaCoins (pic) or 147 CanadaCoins (video). Make sure you download a wallet first, find your receiving address and add it to the end of your post like this: Tips at CDA: CWfwRTrYQ6WAHXiLwb6HmBYqNhBPWNLcKe (this is our wallet address) We'll send you coins and others who like it may just send you some of their own. Of course, you can send some coins to other posts you like as well. END I'll run some paid facebook ads to boost this, with a budget of around $250. #2:SOCIAL MEDIA POWERED FAUCET We have an experienced programmed from the crypto community developing a branded, social media faucet for us. We should see this active in the next week. We haven't reached out to many bloggers yet, so if you are one, or have any connections, please get, or put us in touch. Any other ideas, let me know by PM. Thanks man. You are doing a fine work promoting the coin! To the miners: pool.terahashers.com

As many of you know, the "official" mining pool that we attempted to launch was a mess and after three failed attempts to get it right, we finaly abandoned the attempt and paid out miners on the pool manually (plus a bonus for their inconvenience). (If you were a miner on that pool and have not received your earned coins plus bonus yet, it is because I'm waiting to receive an email from you with your CDA address.) Well I'm pleased to say that we have finally put humpty dumpty back together again, (after firing the first pool operator) thanks to the diliigent efforts of a community member that has stepped up to completely reinstall it on our VPS from scratch and go over all the settings. I'll wait to see how the pool performs before sending out public accolades to the member, but so far it is looking solid. So now the contact form has been disabled, but you can use pool_op [AT] canadacoin.org to contact him. We will be offering a 10% pool bonus for the first week back, as an appreciation for trying CDA Official Pool out. Instead of earning 15 coins on a block, blocks will earn 16.5 coins/block. This will be paid out of the Development Fund We continue to appreciate the efforts of the existing pool operators, so if you are having good success there, you may just want to stay. the URL of the Official Pool is http://pool.canadacoin.netNoon tomorrow (PST +8). Welcome back Official Pool!

For those that didn't notice, our current logo was modified only slightly from a gold canadian maple leaf coin and then colourized. We have not had a legal opinion on it, and personally I like the cheekiness of what we did, but we could run into issues when we try to trademark it at some point. Therefore, I've had a graphic artist provide another version, from scrtach of a logo, that would be free of any such issues and conflicts, and we need to decide whether this image would be suitable and whether to make the switch, especially before printed materials are done, or whether to face an opposition when we go to get the logo trademarked at CIPO (Canadian Intellectual Property Office). So here is the draft (after many trials) of what he has come up with so far. Do you like it? Your comments are appreciated.

A quick point about the re-opening of the Official Pool... There are now two ways to get help if you're having problems with the pool: The pool operator will be online in the IRC channel when the pool re-opens to help anyone who's having problems, and will be available in the channel as much as possible (not 24/7 but a lot!). God, I *hate* that our $1 coin is called a "loonie"... makes everyone in the world think us Canadians are a bunch of nut cases! But that's *another* debate! Chris

I like the details on the leaf and the golden background, which portrays that you will find value here.

Staking is working fine here, nthused. Not sure what's causing your issue. Try putting "staking=1" in the CanadaCoin.conf file. Maybe that'll help? Regards, Chris

I woder how will canadian govermenet react.
There is already a Canada eCoin ( https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/9053-canada-ecoin-cdn-information/) So I have no choice but to classify CDA as a "coin of confusion". I downloaded the CanadaCoin Wallet off of Coingen.io three weeks ago. I am not sure I want to support a coin that has no developer so I will not be investing. But good luck nonetheless, Marie-Lynn http://circonference.ca
