Due to large number of transactions MtGox servers failed to provide service, as a result trade was not executed at most critical time. I think TradeHill should make a big deal out this, we do need alternatives to MtGox failed management.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Keep in mind you're asking a human herd to change direction. It doesn't do so lightly, but if enough sense doom, the rest will follow.

Do you think tradehill has the hardware capacity to never have these issues?

I have used CampBX quite a bit, both via UI and via API. It's solid. I do wish it had a bit more volume but it's been good enough.

Don't worry I fully expect MtGox's new AML policies to help alleviate the problem of overcrowding as some users re-discover there actually are other exchanges out there.
