It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

So no accountability, no compensation for screwing everyone over.

Interesting concept.

what did mtgox do exactly? Huh

you mean besides place themselves at the epicenter of the most promising revolutionary bid for liberty in the last 2 centuries and then milk it for their own benefit rather than take their role seriously?

nothing I guess

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

I support higher fees so Gox can upgrade their systems.

I support no fees, because Gox needs to compensate money they cost traders with their inept system.
