This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable. Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

who do you think is doing this?
early adopter/s, new wall street sharks, or perhaps satoshi telling us to keep it low for a while?
these dips don't look anything like panic sells. is it someone cashing out for a new Ferrari or someone's just trapping more coins for cheap?

Looks like this will be our new trading range for a while.... I give it a day or two before someone calls the price 'stable' again.

Just made me another $4 (3%) without bitcoinica or leverage on these swings. I must say I like this volatility but I need to sleep!
Correction: 3% on my cash while maintaining my bitcoin balance.

is it someone cashing out for a new Ferrari?
If it is, I hope they don't drive like they trade! only logical explanation i can come up with is that someone big entered bitcoin, has plenty BTC and USD already and setting up for as many cheap coins they can get without driving price much lower to not kill the confidence because in few weeks or months it could as well be in double digits. we are obviously not crashing down, but behavior is rather aggressive i wouldn't think about big whale if we hadn't seen bid wall disappear and huge asks appear not so long ago. it isn't us collectively doing it this time - we are being targets and played

All this action is probably just some guy with a shit ton of money, just trying to figure out the controls.

All this action is probably just some guy with a shit ton of money, just trying to figure out the controls. and he realizes he has not much time left before inevitable rally continues no matter how much he throws in asks in front to slow it down

its more like 1,000 people... 100 market makers, 50 of which are bull, and 50 bears I'm guessing you and i are part of the other 900 people

i speculate that walls on both sides currently and mostly are from this one person/group
its more like 1,000 people... i meant to say large parts of the walls. remember when huge bid wall disappeared and huge asks reappeared above 7.2? so that someone is very capable but for all i know i could be way off and wrong in my speculations on what was and is going on. plus there was the fight with that guy who took nice profit and lost it all shortly after
