So im pretty new to BTC so bear that in mind when answering please.

I like what I see so am going to throw $500 at it and see what happens, I have 20GH/s on cex.io making a little passive income.

So should I invest my money there

Or

Should I buy a miner and do it from home ?

I can see upsides to both, on cex I dont have to worry about electricity or hardware failures, but of coarse the income output would be lower, if I purchased a miner I can move it around, but have to pay more electic bills, and then if it goes up in smoke that is it.

I'm swaying towards cex to be honest, because I still have the option there to take my money back at if i wish.

Can some one give me an example of what 180-200GH/s on cex would make in BTC per week please ?

So what would you all do ?

Thanks in advance for your comments and replies

Cheers
Mark

None of the above.  Buy a single Bitcoin, get a decent bottle of single malt Whiskey and stash it away.

Once BTC price raises to $1k, pop bottle and pour a single glass neat and drink up your successful investment.

Once BTC price raises to $2k, drink 2 glasses of whiskey.

Rinse repeat at different levels until bottle is finished.   Grin

Cex is a huge ripoff, you'll never make anything close to even a decent return for mining.  165gh/s there costs 1.122 BTC plus a $.30kw/h maintanance fee.  For the same price, you could buy two S1's, undervolt them, and have cheaper hosting.  If you want to mine without worrying about hardware, there are some groupbuys on the forum that do the same thing for a much lower cost.  Hell, I think one of the ones I ran ended up about half the price before hosting

Just buy $500 worth of btc, you'll never mine as much as you can buy with the same amount of money.  Dif is too high.  I used to ask, "Is bitcoin a scam?"  Good friend of mine said, "No, mining equipment is a scam."
