I put all I could gather from the various threads into the consolidated loan box above.  You can quote it and add the missing information if you wish.  I think the total is the main thing and I think that is correct.

I do not know why, but I find this whole BTC loaning thing very fascinating.  It is a study in human beings and behavior and how they deal (or don't deal) with money.

I guess the question we are asking here is:  can a new system for loaning money to pseudo-anonymous people be developed.

We have banks developing, and even a credit rating system on the way.  Seems to me, for better or worse, we are having to duplicate a lot of the same infrastructure that has been developed in the fiat lending industry.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!
Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Watching the Bitcoin economy in general grow out of its infancy is very interesting... you sort of think, "hey, there's that real-world system being duplicated/adapted to bitcoin," and it's somewhat exciting to watch a free parallel economy excel at the same things that are done with fiat.

I agree it is very fascinating, and I have to say that for better or worse I'm glad to be a part of it. I think there are some great things to come and I think we are going to look back on this time with fondness. There is a historical society in the building I work in and I was down helping them with their computer systems the other day and they were showing me old documents from a bank in town that I used to work for. Some of the docs were old deposit and loan lists that the bank kept regarding customers. Really reminded me of the google doc that was started here. Back in the day will be a common phrase for some of us in the future I think  Cheesy

Yes, I believe that kujoking7 should mark all five threads as "OVERDUE" or at least "OPEN", not closed unless they are.

Updated information collected from all five threads:

So, after 104 BTC in defaulted loans, has this guy pretty much disappeared ? (well, 104 as the borrowed amount, perhaps closer to 125 as the repayment amount ?)

From what I had read, he essentially started out with a couple small loans, then shopped around, using those successful loans (not even repaid) to use as part of his 'credentials' in order to seek larger loans ?

He still seems to be actively browsing the forum, although silent....

So, basically, his signature is bullshit then ? as his references are received loans...not necessarily REPAID loans ?

Another thing that bothered me (that went virtually unquestioned) was the fact that he posted on more than 1 occasion, that FUND WERE SENT yet no one received anything and when he was questioned about it once, he simply said he 'messed up'......WTF

Where did those 'messed up' funds go ? who were they sent to ?

This guy seems like nothing more than a lying piece of shit, simply looking to buy time, so the fact that he responded to a couple PM's hopefully doesn't get your hopes up.

I think this guy is gone.....as he's way too deep into it to begin selling everything he has listed for sale, in order to pay people back.

Alternatively, if he does end up selling some items, I can perhaps see some of the loans being repaid, but potential buyers run the risk of never receiving anything for their BTC sent for his goods currently for sale.

This looks like it's going to be a partial win/lose situation no matter what.

That activity did not go unnoticed.  Not everything gets or needs to be reported on.

As for willingness to give out large loans, you don't see the full picture, and default is considered.

You do realize you're giving him the opportunity to bet against you on a situation he has full control over, I hope. Assuming he isn't a scammer and just had bad things happen, he could place a bet against you just before paying everything back and then get your money out of it.

and thats why i am a gambler.

In that case, how about this:

I'll put 100 btc into escrow and you do the same, then you guess what number from 1 to 6 I'm gonna say in my next reply to you, and write it in a reply to me. After that, I say a number and if your guess was right, you get 200 btc. If I don't, I get 200 btc.
