There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I bought 4 of these Neptunes and have just requested a refund on one.
I assumed i would get a refund in USD but KnC have emailed me to say it would be faster if i take my refund in Bitcoins (Which is unusual).
I still have 3 and i was going to refund them but since KnC are now offering a 2nd Neptune for all first batch orders i think ill keep them for now.

Tips:
Talk to Liam, maybe Keith; DO NOT talk to Nicolette (she is not even at the mainsite-I think she is on Skype judging by poor voice quality, probably in Boden???).
Be POLITE, but firm, ask nicely to issue refund today if you were waiting a month or so and more than a week on BTC.

1st. initial request on 12/April/2014 2nd. emailed bank details after receiving reply on 14/April/2014 3rd. emailed on 23/April/2014 just saying "here is my BTC address if makes refund easier", and got reply next day "You will now be refunded in BTC instead of USD via bank transfer" 02/May/2014 payment appeared in my wallet. No problems at all, Guess I was lucky  edit.  date fixed. BTW, I use Australian format |

In my opinion (based on conversations): 1. they have a queue based on initial refund requests for USD. see point#2 2. because some people switched to BTC option, they did not made a new queue, but refund based on vague understanding of initial request plus BTC request timing. 3. there are people with more or less authority that you get connected to. a. Nicolette could not do anything, just repeat the same thing over and over. She also sounded very unhappy. b. Anna is apparently the customer support manager, but sometimes has unrealistic projections (she uses the phrase "in a few days", but I was refunded on the 10th day-is this truly a few days?) c. Keith and Liam both sometimes post on knc forum. Keith was telling me "a couple of days", but I was refunded at the end of the third (after another call). d. Liam told me that he has to talk to a manager, but then refund went through. I called at 6am US central (which is 1pm Stockholm). I think that by 3-4pm Stockholm ALL refunds are done for the day. I noticed that some refunds from the same account were done before me, so try 5-6 am eastern in US. 4. After the initial refund request I waited two weeks before doing anything, then emailed, then emailed a week later, then once in three days. After I was told that it is coming, but i was still not getting it, i called every day for three days (but never more than once a day), but I was getting there too late (called at 8-9am US central), then, luckily, called at 6am (1pm Stockholm time). Anyway, this could be just a random sequence of events. You might get it in three days as someone else did. I hope that this helps. I was getting really anxious about it before todays developments. |

Requested refund on May 15 for 2 Neptunes orders.
Refund was in BTC to expedite process according to KNC.
Still waiting for refund.
Also on the KNC forum there was a link to this page posted by one of the users, which seems to have been removed since it can not be found, and it was a link fairly new.
On my last email I got from KNC they are claiming refunds will take 1 to 2 months in BTC and more for wire, that is completely unacceptable, it seems they are following the path of BFL.

Has anyone recently received a Neptune refund from KnC? They indicate they have moved into May for refund processing but I have yet to get to someone who can give me a concrete answer as to when my refund will process.
