I just installed Bitcoin Wallet for Android. It is quite intuitive. Took me 5 minutes to get familiar with it.
I made a backup with a strong password (12 random characters) and emailed the encrypted file it to myself.

But still, I don't feel that safe. Phones are subject to all kinds of security problems.

I've decided to keep 50 EUR in this wallet. If I ever come across some shop that accepts bitcoins I'll try it out. It is also good to keep some small money there just to see if it really is safe.

Btw, I think I discovered a tiny typo.

Trying to send but balance not yet confirmed. Message says
"You're missing mBTC 14.32.

(BTC 80 waiting for confirmation)"

It should say mBTC 80 waiting for confirmation.

Based on the last three years of history your coins are pretty safe. Still the app is not meant as a long-term "store of value". Keeping about 50 EUR in the wallet sounds about right to me, but of course it depends on your personal circumstances.

Thanks for spotting the bug, I just fixed it for the next version.

As long as you don't install untrusted stuff on your phone you'll be ok. I don't think anyone has had their android wallet hacked yet..?

The amount in my mobile wallet largely depends on what I have planned for the day but its hardly ever over 1BTC.

I would say on average around the 0.5 BTC mark.

I had my blockchain wallet hacked when only ever accesed via my android mobile.
Back then only had a couple of dollars protected by a shitty password and no 2fa.

Now i use a different wallet on my new phone and even though im now pretty sure that what i keep there is as secure as i can make it with 2fa, pin and good password someone could still get to it just like they could get the wallet thats in your pocket.
Thats why i would say only keep a small amount like $25 on your phone, the rest always on paper wallets.
The only btc you will need on your phone is if your going out and want a coffee or something, still not many places take it yet.
