i'm not, I know i'm even less prepared than some people around me, and less prepared than you. Even in without a apocalyptic scenario i'm in a fragile position.

But my plans for the near future are:


1) Get money reserves, so it will be easier put myself in a less vulnerable position. Have some gold and cash reserve in home, well hidden and with no one knowing about that.

2) Be able to produce some food at home. Plants( that not requires artificial fertilizer, if possible), animals that can become source of meat, like bunnies or fishes. Also that requires not too much water, if possible.

3) Get basic stuff that do not depend on electricity to work, like solar or cinetic-charged flashlight, lamps, or anything that could be usefull

4) Stock basic stuff that is not pereshible and can be usefull, like canned food, things to make fire, medicine, tools. And how to hide them so ridders cannot take from me.



sadly will take some time until I can put in practice these steps

I realized that after a day or two of not having power in my area my car would be bone dry of gas after a day or two...My food supply would be severely in danger of running out along with my water and other basic needs if a real event were to happen.

Do you stock bottled water?  People always overlook this, but you will be dead in THREE DAYS without water.  You can go three weeks without food.

Today when i woke up for work and noticed it was brighter out than when i normally wake up up at 4:00 A.M. I then realized the power was out and after looking at my watch it was 5:20.

I rushed to get dressed with only 30 minutes to get to work on time.  when i got to work we were sent home because the power outage affected my area and the surrounding 20++ miles.

On my way home i was looking for a store to buy a coffee since i was unable to brew a pot and needed some gas for the car.  everything was out....Couldn't get gas because all stores were affected. No coffee no gas no nothing...every damn store was shut down.

got home and was desperate for a coffee so i put some hot water in a pan and put it on the gas barbecue grill in the yard...few minutes later had hot water and poured it over the coffee grounds and had myself a nice cup of coffee.

I then realized that this minor power outage had so affected my morning that i would be completely up shits creek without a paddle if it were more serious of an event.

I realized that after a day or two of not having power in my area my car would be bone dry of gas after a day or two...My food supply would be severely in danger of running out along with my water and other basic needs if a real event were to happen.

From this day on i will be looking at the very real possibility of such an event happening and how i could manage through it. The way the world is today things like this could happen at any moment and where would you be if it were to happen?  Would you be prepared for it?  Next time i will be ready so should you.

I started today....My plan is to keep at least 2 weeks worth of can goods on hand and will rotate stock every week. Propane tanks for the grill i will keep 2 full tanks on hand at all times for cooking heating. Coleman stove, lamps all accesories to maintain 2 weeks. Tents,sleeping bags,Batteries Ar-15 10,000 rounds of ammo,12 gauge 30 Boxes of ammo,22 LCR 50,000 rounds of ammo 9MM and 200 rounds of ammo.
I have also started buying seeds of all kinds especially vegatables of every kind.

I'm looking into buying Compound bows to save Ammo and also to hunt silently if needed.  looking to buy a hand crank radio for communications.
the list is growing but i'm trying to keep it simple.

I think basic survival should start with how to protect yourself from predators during a disaster.

2) Hydroponics I think it's called. Fish and food, and you can make biodiesel from the algae.

The worst Predator during a man made disaster would be your neighbor wanting what you have. I'm prepared for that situation.

why worry about a meteor when the real threat of insane leaders like Obama and putin Exists? it is more likely for Nuclear disaster to happen than a meteor to wipe us out.

Life would be better afterwards. then and only THEN will you truely LIVE!

I think all people realize that, but they just don't think about it. We think that the way we are living now is permanent and can't be changed, but in reality our comfortable life is fragile as house of cards.

We do live in a fragile life, but I have reason to believe unless everything goes REALLY pear-shaped, everything should continue as "Normal" for at least a little while longer.
