I wanted to use solar to power my house. What are the things I need to buy?

Probably solar panels for a start.  I'm sure you can find more detailed information on google. What country are you in? Some companies in the UK give them out for 'free' but they take their payment out of the free electricity that goes back into the grid for x amount of years, then they're yours.

@Pobre

Don't use the China panels, as they seem to have a lot issues. Do some reasearch for what is possible in your country, perhaps the government will subsidise a part of the solar panels.
Also make sure if you really think it's worth to invest in this, because it can take 10/20 years to get your investment back.
