Feedback especially wanted on this part:

Quote from: elux
Bitmit is nice, though perhaps a little buggy, like OP describes. More importantly it is hardly a mite compared to the whale that is Ebay.
So I was thinking.. Let's put the community to work! Do our share in building Bitcoin economy by either listing OR bidding on an item of one's choosing.

I have a Radeon 4890 lying around, perhaps you have a Super Nintendo or something else lying in the basement or garage.

Perhaps make a top level post on this?

Would YOU sir* be willing and eager to do your part in growing the nascent bitcoin economy?  Smiley

I love bitmit.  I'm in the process of moving and putting a lot of items on that site.  Check my signature for a referral link.

The site has bugs, but the developer is very helpful.  I've had two items sold, one went great, the other had an AWOL buyer.

bitmit is a very important website for the future of bitcoin. To boost the bitcoin economy in any significant way, we must all contribute to drastically increase activity on sites such as bitmit.

I'm doing my part of the contribution by placing a large number of articles soon, including non trivial stuff like music instruments etc!

Come on people! Together we can do this!!

Do you have any very nice guitars (Gibson Les Pauls, Paul Reed Smiths, etc.)?

Do you have any very nice basses?

Do you have any very nice acoustic guitars?

Do you have any higher-end electronic drum kits?

Edit:  To stay on topic, Bitmit looks awesome.  First time I check it out Smiley

Thanks for posting. There was something very specific (I'll note it when bidding's over :p ) I've been trying to find for months at a reasonable rate (in any currency), and somehow found it on Bitmit. Go figure.

Wow, there's actually a lot of stuff listed for sale there now.  Much more than I ever saw at biddingpond.

Probably the biggest problem is feedback.  You have to start somewhat small when selling with 0 feedback, else you'll lose big on the lower prices the items you list sell for.

Also, I love the icons indicating shipping details.  Much clearer than eBay's setup.

maybe one of you SEO pros could write a craigslist script to advertise hot items listed on bitmit to get some new users.

bitmit also needs to have a page dedicated to buying bitcoins.  this is what i see holding bitcoin back from large adoption.  if mtgox somehow allowed approved e-commerce websites access to the order book giving customers an easy way to buy bitcoins then users who stumble upon bitmit and wont have to spend a day and a half figuring out how to get btc in the first place.

imagine if a user saw an item of interest and could input his cc details and hit pay.  behind the scenes the cc is used to purchase bitcoins at mtgox and instantly sends btc to the seller.  this would obviously require mtgox to change the way it works which i doubt would ever happen.

Yea, bitbid is pretty much dead. Luckily I found Bitmit instead who have a great deal of auctions.
