Looking over the remains of a number of seemingly dead bitcoin services I thought it might be worthwhile to compile a list of these, anyone else want to help start compiling a list?

Here are a few to start us off

https://bitcoinmarket.com/

https://www.bitcoin4cash.com/

http://bitbills.com/

https://www.exchangebitcoins.com/

I thought bitpay was legit and running last I heard but the link you provided seems to be down.

As of the last hour www.sealswithclubs.org , a bitcoin poker site has been inaccessible to me. Not sure if this is an isolated incident I am dealing with but I just made a withdraw before it went down so I am hoping it isn't permanent.

If you are including scams the mybitcoin site whatever that is should probably be included.

And another one http://btcbusiness.net/

I havent checked your other links but this one is still accessible which means someone is paying the bills. It hasn't been updated in a long time but I dont think this belongs on the list.

Actually the only sites down that you claim are: bitcoinforcash, bitpay and exchange bitcoins

I am sorry but I think your post reeks of revenge and I don't think it should be allowed to continue. If you are going to report dead sites they should at least be dead.

[Edit]

Bitpay is up with the link shown. You should update your old website to direct users to the old site but the OP still appears to be a bit wrong in their details of what is closed.

Yeah the site is on but it passes my litmus test in the OP of "seemingly dead bitcoin services"

It doesn't say seemingly dead but dead sites. This started out as a good idea to begin with but I question your motives. The link provided for BitPay works fine for me.

Seals will be back asap. Sorry about the timing of your withdrawal, I had run them less than an hour before we went down.

http://bitbills.com/ works for me.

Like I said most of the sites are still operating. I am not sure what the OP is talking about but it seems to me like it might be someone on a revenge mission.

This is good to know. I wasn't too much concerned and figured they wouldn't just go offline at 3am on a saturday permanently. Seemed a little too random to me but this post came up so I had to add it to a temporary list at the very least.

I think he's talking about businesses that are either not operational and not going anywhere. I don't know why BitPay was on that list even for a moment, but that said-- bitbills definitely belongs on it.

And throw in my old bit-fu.com for good measure. ^_^

IMO not going anywhere ≠ Dead ≠ What the OP says this thread is about

Matthew what was bit-fu supposed to be? It was before my time.

BitMunchies is dead http://bitmunchies.com/

Confirmed the site says it can no longer operate. Perhaps someone could intervene as a better system operator than the one he hired but it appears to be too late.

Another one, I had almost forgotten about this one

http://bitcoinworldmarket.com/

but they had some lol worthy gems of products including plain hemp t-shirts and soda seltzer.

I see this site's problem. All their prices are listed in USD. If you want to create a site for BTC sales the prices should be in BTC and not USD.

So you just gave the project to someone who abandoned it or what? I know of your other project and I submitted one of the questions I hope to be asked to Zhou Tong. It seems to me that he has just too much information and power for any one person. It has been pretty consistent that when any one side is starfished it moves in the opposite direction.

I made the game, was nearly finished with the second version, then the MyBitcoin fiasco happened and I got burnt out trying to make things work in the midst. Plus I was really busy saving the world.

Also, I think you give Bitcoinica too much credit. Bitcoinica is just a tool. It's a tool a bunch of people are using. So in a sense, it's a bunch of people holding guns shooting each other asking "Why are you shooting me!?!?!" and then you're saying "No one should have a gun".

My problem is the dark order book that only one person can see. That person is Zhou Tong a 17 year old from Singapore. If he follows the advice of the poll he held the other day then he will start his own exchange with which I presume will also have a dark order book only he can see. I also see the problem with letting people see the leveraged positions of others as this would allow easy exploitation but who is to say he isn't doing that on his own already.

On the surface all 3 sites appear to be functional. If you are going to call them dead then they should at least be dead.
