I joked that NXT's market cap will double over the next couple of months but honestly my hunch is that it will probably dip considerably. I don't think it should. It's certainly the most interesting ALT out there and has the best development team but unfortunately it takes a lot of hype to keep it gaining traction and as soon as the hype subsides it starts to fall again.
So I suppose I'm saying two things, NXT should certainly reign supreme over all other alts as it's really the only interesting thing out there BUT it's price will probably not reflect that over the next few months. The adoption really isn't there and as good as the development team is (and they are probably the best), there's simply no making up for the lack of adoption by retailers/news etc..
Anyway, it's just my hunch. If you are going to invest in an alt coin I'd say go NXT it might go on to outperform all alts even if that means losing its value the slowest.
I should also say that if you take a reasonable look at the total performance of NXT you will see continued 'hype' cycles that result in a continued decline:
We had the release of the source code, lots of hype, people got it nobody was thrilled price tanked. We had moving to an actual exchange (bter) fiat -> NXT, lots of hype, tanked in no time. The hype cycles keep getting weaker and weaker. Most recently we had the Asset exchange but I have serious doubts about how long that can hang on given our history.
Anyway, what are everyone else's thoughts? BTW this is clearly not FUD (check all my previous posts). I should be cheer lead for NXT.
