Hi folk.
This topic is finalization of this discussion https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590520.0 about BB monetization, we've tried to find out any suitable model of donation-based support, and finally reached an impasse.
Since we have no more time to talks, after consideration with all interested parties, we've decided to give up the idea managed income.
We are sorry if someone disappointed, but unfortunately any scheme that we proposed was proved as subject to cheating(see discussion).
As now described in announce, we(developers) reserve the percentage of emission(5%, or may be less) and this percentage will be smoothly emitted along with all coins.
In other words, as it called here - it's a smooth premine. Yes we going to do it.

And before you gonna vote, to be clear i remind my starter topic:
As i could see here, at this forum, profit of developers is very sensitive point. And to get success with some another new currency it is very important to find good approach to be received by community.
With all this chaos of bitcoin forks creating a new cryptocurrency is not associated with some real work. It's even more associated  with a joke now Smiley
CryptoNote is not a final product yet, it's just a bright technology in which we believe, and want to improve, but there a lot of work ahead (UI, services integration, cloud wallet etc).
Now take a look to altcoins: there are no success projects where the founders does not have a stake. Or you just don't know about  stake yet, don't be a naive.
If project starts without earning model - it started to be abandoned.
So, finally, our monetization model will be transparent and clear for all, but to be "fair" doesn't mean to be "moneyless".
In other words: we going to earn with this project.

will we be able to change to whom the taxes go too. some concerns
1. should you stop working will you still get the 5 percent or less.
2. can the less be zero
3. if another develper takes your place will you still collect the 5 percent or less and the new developer get additional 5 percent or less taxes. effectively now 10 percent at most

Well actually, there is a bounty system that could work !

The problem with your other proposal was that you wanted to peg the donation with a parameter that could be cheated.

So I suggest you add a bounty option to your pool !

I do not think the devs should work for free. But I dont think you are anyway.

1. do you think the miners should work for fee. they are not gauranteed income but they have real and immediate associated costs. equipement and electricity.
-solominer of bitcoin with readily available techonology can not in all likelyhood manufacture a single bitcoin in one persons lifetime. But participating in mining, that solo miner is securing the network and provides real benefit.

2. A large percent of zero is zero. Meaning, that if you follow your current proposed income path, you will likely alianate miners. Your coin may fail. A very good example, is Monero. The current devs are not even the ones that brought the coin to the community. The original dev of Monero is not involved with the project. However, due to percieved fairness, Monero is gaining popularity and interest. It has surpassed in hashrate of bytecoin the original cryptonight coin. The current developers were mining from the very early days. They have thousands of coins. As such, they have a real interest in having their coin succeed. As we are all speculating and therefore on the subject on income. Consider that Monero reaches the same value of bitcoin. 500 dollars per coin whould translate for some millions, those that were mining early on would be millionairs.  Hence the hesitation, that ongoing percentage would be to high for continued work.

consider this for monero. if in the first year 1 million coins are generated. even at 3 percent and if value is 500 dollars you are looking at 15 million dollars of income. Its not that I do not think you do not deserve it or your work does not merit this. However, I think I am putting to words what everyone is hesitant about.

I like the bounty idea.
