Trying to find something to mine while my 2x 7970's are idle. X11 is probably my favorite because of low energy consumption and low heat (doesn't heat up my bedroom very much) but that hasn't been very profitable as of late. Are there any other algorithms that would be good to GPU mine? I've tried scrypt-n and that's okay but looking for other algos.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Darkcoin has been rather profitable the last couple of days. I agree x11 is nice for the lower heat output and power consumption.

Gridcoin:

While it is half scrypt, you need GPUs/cpus doing scientific work to get the full block reward.  The other half of the coin is CPU only through scientific research.  The coin will be huge, check it out.

Scrypt-N, X11, Groestl (Or whatever it was called).
GPU are great, since they can switch between different algorithms.
