Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I wish.

Most income still comes from traditional investing.

I've only had a few clients actually buy bitcoin. Silk Road getting shut down spurred many of them to reconsider bitcoin, and I thought many would finally pull the trigger. Many were keen on getting involved—even downloading wallets—but the MtGox debacle spooked them all. Mark Karpeles has no idea the damage he hath wrought.

Mining? I still have a few ASICs hashing as to cover the cost of transaction fees and then some. GPUs and CPUs are altcoin mining, but it's a hobby like reading, chess, or exercising.

I'm working on some serious crypto related projects that I hope will increase my income from bitcoin, as I aspire to continue further into the world of cryptocurrencies.
