+1 to NXT being the next riser...just my .02$

Agree with that.

Another one one that the trollers wrote off as a "scam instamine" and are now having to eat their words.

Darkcoin had a lot of promise and suggested some real innovation.  But it has not delivered on that promise, though I have to admit this latest pump is impressive.

Good Luck!

Post your vote!

No here is why

THE FACTS ABOUT DARK COIN

1. released without windows QT so that only dev and pals could mine it.

Quite true, but this would only affect solo miners wouldnt it?
I guess if you were pool mining it would have been OK, or do i take it that there was no pools?

A bit poor though that no windows wallet was released at launch.

Darkcoin was the first x11 coin and I doubt there were any pools available until a few days after launch. There was also a pool exploit not too long ago that was widespread and allowed tons of fake share to be submitted and counted as valid, stealing shares from legitimate miners. The exploit has since been patched by the majority of x11 pools.

I would SHIT myself if I saw it go that high. Like I would just shit my brain out at the stupidity of such a thing. Sarcasm wouldn't even be a option. It's like: Jeezus. What the hell happened to the Earth?

If its a unique resource then its possible.   Forget your objections, is the coin filling some vital demand out there.     Personally I dont care about secrecy that much but if there is a big enough market and this is the one coin that can provide a solution then I guess 100 at least is a maybe

Well if a shitcoin alt clone like AuroraCoin with zero innovation, a 50% premine and roughly the same coin total as DarkCoin could reach $90 earlier this year, it's certainly possible for DarkCoin to reach it and have a much better chance of staying there IMO.

That would make things very interesting. David vs. Goliath

US Dollar (USD)

- Premine: US government has 100% monopoly on mining
- Mining algorithm: 8 white guys
- Block reward: exponentially increasing ad infinitum
- Double spending: Institutionalized by the banks
- Security: proof of violence
- Transaction confirmation: slower than snail mail

Price adjusted for equal monetary base of 10.000.000 coins, so that price comparisons of $/coin can be meaningful:

Bitcoin   573$
Litecoin   29.5$
Ripple   5.16$
Peercoin   4.49$
Nxt           3.65$
Doge   3.51$
Dark     2.42$
Name   1.79$
Master   1.42$

Lite 29.5$ and Doge 3.51$ per coin.

Lite's all time high and Doge's all time high was >100$ and >10$ respectively.

Factor in:

1. LTC has failed in its primary mission to improve bitcoin on asic resistance.
2. DOGE's monetary base is infinite

The conclusion should be immediate: If DRK is "overpriced" at 1/11th of LTC's price and has a lower price compared to infinite DOGE, then what are LTC and DOGE? Bubbles of epic proportions?
