I turned on my pc today and opened my wallet and all of a sudden both malwarebytes and windows defender start freaking out! its saying that there is a self replicating virus in 2 blocks that have been sycned to my wallet! now it says 3 when i re-opened my wallet to try again!!! im worried that i just lost all my BTC and dont know what to do!!! I was thinking a resync? all help is appreciated!!!
EDIT: i was thinking cleaning the blocks that are infected then seeing if my wallet is back in working condition?

It could be a false positive. Have you checked your balance on the blockchain to see if your coins are still at the same addresses?

Someone put a virus signature in the blockchain. This is all over Reddit. It's nothing to worry about; just ignore it.

Just today I received an alert from Windows Defender stating that it had found the DOS/Stoned malware. Even after allegedly removing the virus, Bitcoin Core was unable to start.
I configured Windows Defender to ignore bitcoin-qt.exe and AppData/Roaming/Bitcoin folder. Problem solved.

I love it! When the 'check engine' light comes on, just break the LED! Problem solved!

HA! Really? Stoned was the first, and only, virus I have ever had. That was back in about 1992.

Just make sure u hold the private keys of your addresses. As long as u hold the private key it does not matter even if u clean up your disk...

Yeah, someone said that the virus is around 25 years old and was wondering why virus scanners were still picking it up when it should be unusable by this point. yep the sst files which bitcoin-core now uses instead, are also coincidentally files names of a virus from 1991 https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/4069https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/4086bitcoin-core if downloaded from th proper bitcoin website, should be safe. a work around(NOT FIX) is to tell your AV software to ignore bitcoin folders. but i highly inform you it is a work around and if you due the workaround, it will not scan that folder, leaving it as a risk that viruses can hide there unscanned in the future. so be careful
