25% fee on mining pool?  >:( You lost me as a supporter. Have you ever heard of the Laffer curve? Look it up.

it's back to the "normal" 2% level. But then again, even 2% doesn't really inspire any willingness to "donate" on top. I regularly did back in Mar-Apr when the "old pool" charged nothing -- this alone is proof for Laffer to have been correct!

Real-life lessons for all the Newbies to free-markets and Liberty there :))

What would the logistics be like to do an airdrop, or something like that on Indian ran casinos and stores to get interest going in that arena. I do not know if that is feasible or even a good idea.

I personally have a hard time getting my head around how they could use them since they could just make their own crypto to use inside casinos (seems like a good idea that could eliminate coins in machines), but maybe if there was a unified crypto that could be carried from casino to casino, then spent at reservation stores as well it may be a winning proposition for everyone.

Just a thought.

I partially agree.

Now there is a huge number of altercoin...hundreds...thousands
They can exist some days or weeks...and then die.
(I not about such as BTC, LTC)
If there are services that will be both development and cost growth...

At Wampumcoin, development growth is **definitely** needed -- coins normally alleviate the cost factor by just paying bounties (in their own coins). With billions of currently rather worthless coins, (and some "billionaire" holders here willing to invest some of that toward future potential) that shouldn't be a problem -- when we have WAM users able to develop and willing to work for WAM: that's where the "community" aspect comes in...

I don't know why on earth the new owners have **bought in** to Wampumcoin in the first place, but they have. Apparently for dollars, not just wampumcoins, so they are faced with the reality of either risking their dollar investment plus tons of hours of work (and losing it entirely) or select the best suggestions here and find some financing for them, if not "payable in WAM".

The new owners frequently tell of "investors lined up" to invest in something -- this must be a very long line (probably of penniless investors) there, I imagine :) -- but, as long as they are not willing to see that the software development (cost) would be part of an exchange and that an **infrastructure** needs to be built **systematically**, this is unlikely to succeed. So they either face it and "line up" :) their investors behind something wholly functional and organize the financing for that or their nice little gamble of taking over a coin on the cheap will prove very expensive to them, after all...

That's exactly what the "old dev" kept telling his purported plans had been. As he also claimed at the time to be (conveniently) half-Indian and, thus, know his way around and planning to spend that notorious pre-mine on "paying reps" for making it happen, this provided some kind of credibility at the time. As that turned out to be outright fraud, we're left with a coin name that might be somewhat awkward for many other uses.

The thing going nicely with what "Wampum" is (and also solving any name problem) would be coloured coins (smart contracts) and all kinds of certifications, registrations and smart property transactions built on top of the Wampumcoin block index. This can be done with ANY coin (and its block index or blockchain) and would be particularly suitable for a coin like WAM with gazillions in coin volume and, hence, sufficient liquidity. Also, it would provide the urgently needed coin velocity and (once again) that thing called "building an economy" for this coin here.

Historically, Wampum happens to have been used for recording contracts and all kinds of (smaller) agreements. To make Wampumcoin useful in a similar way might provide some real purpose and a way forward.

many good points in your post(s)....

It has been suggested by the new wampumcoin.com that they will be setting up a system of communication for those of us that want to help. Once this is in place and we know what the project direction is then maybe we can collaborate on a community/wampumcoin.com effort ... until then if someone has a solid plan to utilize wampum other then gambling/game sites, please post.

He's basically what I like to call a "GPU holder" who is clinging to the use of mining PCs and chasing the current fad of "ASIC resistant" algos, but that's short-term thinking because ASICs are the long-term future for crypto.  You just have to expect comments like this from people.

OK, so I've been slammed with consulting work and haven't been able to get back here to post for a while.  I've got a couple of different things to mention related to Wampum so I'm going to split them into different posts to keep it easier to read through.

First off, as mentioned, I am planning a giveaway and a drawing for the subscribers on my newsletter (over 25,000 people) and on Twitter to help raise awareness of the coin.

But before I can do that, we need a working Mac wallet app because I have a lot of Mac users on my list.  I know one person who will compile one for us, but he charges .25 BTC and I have limited (non-Wampum) funds at the moment that I'd prefer to put towards getting Wampum onto Prypto scratch cards (Prypto.com), which is part of my plan.  I'm a Prypto reseller and that lets me add ANY coin to their platform, but I need to shell out BTC to do so.  I'm willing to do so for the good of the coin, but need to come up with more to accomplish it since I have other obligations in my business and personal life.

Anyone who is interested in the future of Wampum can help in a couple of ways.

1) if you have dumped WAM in ComKort's BTC market, please clear your sell walls at 1, 2, 3, etc. satoshi so we can start getting the price to rise

2) buy some - it is stupid cheap right now

I have moderate sell orders at higher prices. If I can make some BTC from selling off a small percent of what I have, I can raise funds for some of what I'm working on at my end like the Prypto cards and the bigger plans I am not at liberty to discuss specifically at this point.  However, I refuse to dump at stupidly low prices.

I can see from the market history that there have been a couple of small orders and a little activity in the market this month, but we need more activity.  A lot of people only buy if they see other people buying, so someone has to take the lead.

I'm going to come back in a bit and post a couple more comments.

Oh, and if you missed it, check out my video on the parallels between traditional Wampum belts and blockchain technology:

Good stuff so far Worth.....looking forward to hearing more.  By the sounds of it, I am in a very similar boat to you.....have lots of Wampum to help out with, but little in other resources to throw down at the moment.  Perhaps if we could rally 5 interested parties to split that cost for the Mac wallet, I would be one of them.

As I said in my PM to you, am more than happy to donate some Wampum to add to your giveaway as well........more to spread around can't hurt.

#1........wouldn't do that either!
#2........did that some time ago:-)

Goodmorning (my time), I hope that everyone is going well here.

I'd like to ask everyone who can to take a minute to please help me compile a list of products and services they would be readily pay for with wampumcoin.

You know, hosting, soap, advertising, potato chips, anything. All joking aside, I'm looking for a list of at least 10 things you guys would seriously pay for.

Can anyone explain why the payout is now 95,000 instead of 100,000 on the mining pool?

The block crawler seems to indicate 100,000 coins, so where are those 5,000 coins going?

He's basically what I like to call a "GPU holder" who is clinging to the use of mining PCs and chasing the current fad of "ASIC resistant" algos, but that's short-term thinking because ASICs are the long-term future for crypto.  You just have to expect comments like this from people.

No.  He is referring to the fact that there isn't a lot of interest in scrypt for new coins in the mining community.

One of the design elements of Wampum was that it was to be easy to mine, at least at the start.  Scrypt was a decent choice as it can work reasonably well on CPUs as long as the difficulty is low.  It was hoped that we would have many casual users on low-power hardware acting as miners.

Unfortunately, Wampum has yet to appeal to the casual user (there's nothing you can really do with it), and the hard-core miners just aren't interested in the low-power approach.  In fact, the goofball mining rates we're seeing on the mining pool are just killing Wampum, making it too difficult for the casual users to break in.  Why a few people are burning excessive rubber trying to get "MOAR COYNZ!" is beyond me.  They're far from the economical mining sweet spot.  Maybe they're trying to manipulate the block-chain.  Maybe they're trying to "corner" the Wampum market  Roll Eyes.  Maybe they're just bad at math.  Regardless, they're killing Wampum.  I just mine it because it is (or was) a fun learning experiment.

We need to get more low-power casual miners in the picture  *OR* switch to an algorithm that the mining community is interested in to revive interest.  The only other alternative is some miracle marketing plan.  (I'm not holding my breath)

Unfortunately this "secret skimming" of 5% of the mining pool is really sucking the Wampum interest right out of me.
