You have any proof to back up the claims?  Facebook is a money making machine and it's stock is hovering near an all time high, and it's users are still increasing. 

It isn't about to die anytime soon.

Whatever facebook does, people will stay frustrated for a little while and then will just take it. They are complaining about the new messenger but they're using it. Yes, it forces them to download more apps. Yes it invades privacy. But they're using it. Because they're aready addicted. Soon all the buzz will be over and people will get used to it.
There is also no good alternative where people could switch from Facebook.

Actually there is. I could've googled "facebook alternatives", but i already know one. It's Vk, russian-ukraininan facebook. You can hit on ladies there, they are often willing to talk.
It doesn't force you to download stupid messegers, which is also and advantage. But, c'mon. We know that people not gonna start moving there when they have all their friends on FB already. Who's going to like their pictures?

I don't think Facebook is dead. I am a regular user of Facebook. It is the best to connect with friends and family for me. In my point of view Facebook is not dead yet. It is also a good platform for business.
