its a risk for sale i know i accept that
i can provide many things better than escrow
you can not provide anything better than escrow
and yes i too have been scammed using escrow service i wasn't familiar with and that won't happen again...you might as well sell this on ebay then cause nobody will buy it here w/o escrow
Not quite true, I have completed many 100's of
BTC's worth of deals on this forum without ever using escrow with a 100% success rate - and I have never scammed or been scammed. At the end of the day it is down to the seller/buyer to use diligence and vet who they trade with carefully before committing themselves. It is personal choice, if the seller does not want to use a particular service that does not automatically make him/her a potential scammer - they may have a very valid reason for not doing so, as can be seen in this case - once bitten & all that. Escrow has it's place in the community, but it is not the be all & end all.
Basically, if you are uncomfortable or not 100% sure - don't buy it. I believe there is still a lot of trust in the bitcoin community, it's what makes it so special and it has not let me down so far........
