Of course they say that. They're trying to keep the price up until they can launch their ETF and cash out.

"Bitcoin will be bigger than Facebook" - that's such a vague statement. When will it be bigger, in a year, five years, 10 years, 100 years? Also at what point is it compared, at Facebook's peak (assuming a decline), at a given time point?

Of course, that's nitpicking, but of course the Winklevai will be tremendously bullish having invested into what can be considered a huge volume of what is not only available bitcoin, but accessible bitcoin.

Integrating bitcoin with facebook would be spectacular for widening adoption. I know you can do it from blockchain but it's apparently not getting enough airplay that people even realize it's an option. Promoting that would do wonders.

I think the facebook twins are still smarting over Z's douchey move.

By the way, please clarify - is it Winklevoss - winkle, as in Rip Van or Winklevoss - wink lah voss?

You say "anti government" like that's a bad thing...

Cryptocurrency is to Facebook what The Internet is to Napster.

Crypto:Facebook == Internet:Napster

Remember that.

Of course they say that. They're trying to keep the price up until they can launch their ETF and cash out.

Why would they want to cash out now this early in bitcoins development?  Wouldn't the smarter play be for them to help grow bitcoin and retire as billionaires?

The beauty of it is, you don't even need to lift a finger. If you've already got fiat wealth, you can help yourself to enormous profits by divesting into BTC.

Uh, we got a long ways before we're even in the same conversation as Facebook.

First of all, it's an apples and oranges comparison.  Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and protocol.  Facebook is a social media conglomerate.

Second of all market cap wise, they couldn't be further apart.  Bitcoin has a total market capitalization of 4.4 Billion.  Facebook is just under 200 Billion.

Let's get some world wide acceptance first, before being compared to a social media juggernaut.

Too many thick people around for BTC to become as big as FB in our time.

Nearly everybody under aged, say 40, has FB.

I'll settle for $10,000 = 1 BTC within 15 years.

That is close to impossible.!! everyone who owns a PC has a FB account...n I dont believe they all use BTC's. The only possible way is to ban FB from highly populated countries like India n China.!!n still to wont be close.!

what does bigger even mean? more profitable? more users? bigger impact on society?

it might have a bigger impact on society, and could be a midwife for other financial industries.. but definitely won't have more users.
