What is a "Coin Mob"?
Similar to a "Flash Mob" a "Coin Mob" is where a group of people who would like to pay for goods and services using bitcoin, organize a day and time to visit a selected merchant who either IS ALREADY accepting bitcoin OR who is willing to accept bitcoin for payment instead of their local government issued currency. The idea being that if a merchant is told that "X" number of people are going to show up on a certain day and shower them with bitcoin it will convince that merchant to accept bitcoin for the event and for future patronage, thus increasing our beloved bitcoin community and "closing the loop" in the bitcoin economy.

How can I participate?
1.   Join the forums.
2.   Attend Coin Mobs.
3.   Become a Captain and organize Coin Mobs.
4.   Spread the word! Invite your friends! Invite your enemies!
5.   Donate – Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, all donations welcome!

How can I be promoted to be a Coin Mob Captain?
1.   Register on the Coin Mobs forums.
2.   Email your username and city, St, Country and Twitter handle to:
coinmobs@gmail.com
3.   Your email will be processed and we will promote your account.

What are the requirements to be a Coin Mob Captain?
1.   Have a willingness to participate.
2.   Have a technical understanding of bitcoin.
3.   Be able to organize a Coin Mob on our forums.
4.   Communicate with members via our forums and Twitter.

If you haven’t heard the Bitcoins and Gravy podcast yet head over to www.bitcoinsandgravy.com and listen to episode #16!

If you are interested in becoming a CoinMobs Captain in your local area please just register on our forums and then send an email to coinmobs@gmail.com with your city, state and your forum handle  and your Twitter handle so that we can promote you!

Help spread the word and follow us on twitter: @CoinMobs

Thank you all so much for your support! Together we can bring Bitcoin to the masses!

Local 'crowds' are most likely in places like NYC and SanFran, and (hopefully soon) Boston with the MIT project taking off.
Many areas might not be ready for a couple more years, but it is a really interesting idea.
