Just a poll to gauge the community's opinion.

Anonymous Gambling:
Bitcoin Gambling sites where you don't have to register, like PrimeDice, Just-Dice, BitcoinSports.eu, NextBit.co, etc.

Sign Up Gambling
Bitcoin Gambling sites where you must register like majority of casinos, CoinBet, BitBook.biz, etc.

I'm interested in hearing your opinion.

I personally like anonymous sites like BitcoinSports.eu back in the day when they weren't scams.

Whatever is fastest to be honest. The worse thing is the delay to get to the table or game. I think that if you have instant sign up the casino /  dice game have more chance to make money off the punter.

I would prefer to have the option to choose. It isn't too hard to implement a system which can accept bets both from anonymous users and those who want to have an actual account so they can track their bet history. That way you get the best of both worlds and people who don't want to risk having their whole balance on your site don't have to.

Well the option of having all your bets shown in your account whether with a anonymous or non account is standard. Right?

I much prefer sites without signup. Isn't this one of the strong points of bitcoin gambling?

Some numbers from https://satoshi-karoshi.com (last 6 month) where both is possible:

3476 anonymous accounts
2786 regular accounts (1387 of them even entered their email address)

Myself I allways prefer anonymity and I rarely sign up to gambling sites which require email + captcha instead of shutting up and taking my money  Grin

About losing your account: as xinzark already said there is the possibility to prove ownership by proving ownership of the sender address on deposits. We had some cases and allways sent remaining funds back to the origin address.

Define 'anonymity'.

Is it more anonymous to:
  • Gamble without a username.
  • Gamble with a username.
It depends of course on what you need to make a user account.

The drawbacks of the first are
  • On most sites, your account is temporary and will get deleted and/or you'll be logged out when your browser session terminates.
  • It is very easy to lose your account (and thus your bitcoin balance)

The drawbacks of the second are that:
  • You will need to give your E-mail address. (which might be used for password retrieval and/or sending your ads)
  • Often, you can only make one account per computer or mail address

These things are of course not nice.

On SatoshiCarnival, we decided to do things differently. It is very easy to set up a new user account. We don't use ads or cookies, and You do not have to give us your mail address.

Instead, to request a new password in the case you lost it, you have to sign a message using your main Bitcoin address. This is more secure (wallets are much better protected in general than webmail, and mail in general is sent through the internet unencrypted) and also more anonymous, as there's no way for us to track your identity this way.

So, what do you think of this system?

For those of you who prefer complete anonymity, DirectBet is the only Bitcoin Sportsbook where you can bet on sport events without an account and without providing an e-mail address. No deposit is required. You transfer Bitcoins per individual bet.
