The client sent larger than required fees, the same amount for all transactions, but broadcast them in a way that miners would not readily accept

The coins being sent were only in the sending address for less than an hour, so its priority was very low. I believe that dust transactions have very low priority to begin with anyway.

Is this still stuck or no?
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees#Sending There is quite some information there, I have a transaction that is stuck for weeks. You can try to double spend it and you will receive the coins back.

Wow I didnt know a transaction could take this long.

This is eye opening.. esp if you need to do something immediately. Eg: if you wanted to go gamble with it.

Thanks!

Wow I didnt know a transaction could take this long.

It won't happen if a min fee is included in the transaction.  Wink

If you are really in a hurry to lose your money at some gambling site then send it with more than the minimum (double for example) and the miners will get it into the next available block for you.

Fees are quite affordable at the moment, it is very small. People who are sending transactions should add a transaction fee.

"Transaction not found"

Once the funds are back in your wallet try sending them again - with the correct fee this time!

Good luck.

When I looked it was gone, now it is back.  So, that means it was retransmitted.  Must... wait... longer...

The receiver has the ability to re-transmit the transaction.  If they are doing so, then you'll have to try and get your new transaction transmitted after the old one disappears from the memory of most peers, but before the receiver re-transmits it. (or you could just continue to wait and hope that your old transaction will confirm eventually).

Send your bet with a fee larger than the minimum fee.

Huh Huh My transaction has been stuck for 2 hours and not confirmed and i would really like to send more btc to something else but i cant because blockchain.info has to have no unconfirmed payments to send more Sad
Transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/eb96fa05f6f1d803d0c9950347dba0c2794770c3510c7304e087fd3c0b49568b

Next time you need to increase the fee or send 0.01 BTC or more. No fee + low sending amount = long confirmation (if it ever does). You need one or the other: high amount or decent fee.

Hmm... so the transaction is yet to get confirmed, even after close to 100 hours (more than 4 days). I was told that one of the advantages with Bitcoin was that it could be used for micro-transactions. Seems like that is not the case.

It can be. That doesn't mean you don't have to add a fee though. A 5 cent fee on a 30 cent transaction is still much better than PayPal (which wants 30 cents PLUS a variable fee on top of that). If he added a proper fee, it would have been confirmed long ago.

There's alot of transaction volume, most pools would give those who pays fees priority. Also, he transferred 0.0006982 bitcoins which is a dust transaction, most pool would not confirm it.

He didn't include a fee and it didn't qualify as a priority transaction, it's never going to get in a block.  Accepting crap like that leaves you open to all sorts of problems if you're running a pool (re: horsestablebattery).

Leaving the client open will rebroadcast it every x minutes (random(30) maybe?).  If you could see the IP information I'd guess a handful or less of the nodes relayed it, and it'd be extremely unlikely that any of those are actually mining.

You can send it for free if it's a high priority transaction -- that's when you might have to wait some hours.  Sending a transaction that isn't priority without a proper fee only gets confirmed if you're mining blocks yourself to include it (see deepbit payments).

ed: back when I used to do a lot of bitcoin transfers, I'd use a fee of .00011
