According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Creating new topics bashing it is still free PR. It would be more effective to just ignore SolidCoin and let it die naturually. 

It is not a threat whatsoever, and does not justify a ban.  There are plenty of other threads and topics I am tired of on this forum, but just to ignore them.

Agreed, banning it would mean people give a shit about it, and the people who matter don't.

I vote against it!
As long as those whatsoevercoins are around we should take a closer look at it and sort all issues out.

In a more general approach:

Just modify the wording slightly. Replace the asterics with Bitcoin, steak, mining rigs, politic, candy, ...
Thus you can see the reasoning is rather poor.

Possibly maybe under certain circumstances there could possibly be some topics to be banned.
In such cases I vote for a solid reasoning!
