@Kleineaap: Thanks for your reply. I will do my best to fix the issue.

There's another thing that someone reported to me: It seems that the mobile menu might not work properly on the Samsung Galaxy S4, using the Chrome browser. I would be very grateful if someone with this type of phone could test this out; to determine if this issue is be specific to their phone or not.

Thanks a lot,

~W-M

There has been a mayor update to the site. Most importantly, more Graphs have been added, and the Leaderboards section got overhauled.

And the most important feature: A big speed increase!

We also found out what caused the page freezing problem that many people experienced from time to time. This was caused by the module that made the automatic fluid timestamps. For the time being, these have been disabled, and instead the bet table now shows static timestamps.
This is of course not a permanent solution; in a few days we will introduce a new fluid time-stamping system.

Thank you for testing out our site.

Have a nice day,

~W-M

Today, a lot has happened. we've been working for more than 12 hours straight to implement many of the features we wanted to get finished before the launch.

Here's a quick rundown of the new stuff:
  • Increased form layout for phones.
  • Lights-Out mode, you can toggle to a darkened site layout that's easy on the eyes.
  • Multifactor Authentication using Bitcoin Address Signing.
  • Multifactor Authentication using Google Authenticator.
  • A working Affiliate/Referral system.

Many of these features have been requested a lot by people. Be sure to try them out!

We have also added:

Expected House profit % - the house EV %, so bankrollers can see how much the site truly should be up

Contact Info window in top menu

Also in development are Reward tiers which influence what % of losses you receive back every month as a player, and what % of your losses goes to your affiliate/referrer (you if you are the affiliate).  More details on that later Smiley

A final thing that has been done, is a change in the way the site loads.

It should now feel much more fluid when going to the site for the first time. Please let us know what you think of the preloader.

2 new games are currently in development, but unfortunately they won't be ready by launch on Tuesday.  We hope to have them ready within 1 month of launch.

The Reward Tiers may be ready by launch, will provide more details about that as we get closer.

Glad you're enjoying the new changes.

It is really encouraging to see a site, even before it's opened, that is working so hard to keep the customers happy and trying to change things to make it all go smoothly.  You also are very responsive on the board so no one is left wondering what is going on.  Please keep it up!

The benefits of having 3 committed partners including 2 highly knowledgeable developers.

More features to come, and we are really looking forward to launching.  Especially the 2 new and exciting games coming in a few weeks that are sure to make the chat a lively and fun place to hang out Smiley

Glad you're enjoying the site so far.  We're doing our best!

Admin, in addition to your responsiveness, which I noted was great so far, the other 2 things I can think of are security and reputation.  There have been too many sites that go down due to attacks, or have withdrawals get delayed, and that really hurts credibility of site and ends up ruining site in the long run.  Please make sure that is squared away before opening.  After that it's just making sure you stay professional, even when you come under attack, which I'm sure you will at some point.  It will take some time but after a month or two things should start picking up.  Primedice and justdice did not become huge overnight.

You're right, security and wallet activity / accounting we are taking very seriously and will continue to.

There is a lot still to do, and we hope to grow organically over time.  Reputation will just be a consequence of running a legitimate business Smiley

Thanks for your kind words so far, pillars in this industry such as JD are very important amidst the many small scam operations.  We'll do our best to follow in their footsteps.

Regards,
~ Ali

To add to what Ali said:

We take our service very seriously, as indeed we believe that credibility is the most important thing there is for a business, especially on the internet.

While creating our system, we've consciously tried to consider the viewpoint of an attacker. To prevent(or at least weaken) more common attacks like DDoS-ing, Certificate Forging and plain-old remote-access forcing, we use CloudFlare. Besides the added security layer of this service, it also speeds up the site considerably for visitors, as static things like images will be loaded from servers close to you.

To enhance the security for our users, we've added two methods of Multi-Factor Authentication. You can either prove that you are who you say you are by using Google Authenticator codes (which is a service that many sites provide nowadays, so you probably have the app on your phone already). For people who do not like to depend on Google, it is also possible to prove your identity by signing a message with your Bitcoin address.

Besides security we also care about anonymity. We do not ask for mail addresses. We do not use cookies (except one session cookie to keep you logged in). We don't track referrers or other shady info gathering tactics.

Our withdrawal system is automated. Of course, when the hot wallet is depleted or someone wants to withdraw a very large amount of BTC at one time, we do require manual confirmation. This is to protect ourselves as well as the users of the site for the improbable case of a security breach.

Finally I would like to comment on fairness: As we depend on people to bankroll the site, we find it very important that everyone can see and validate the bets of all other players. This is also why we offer so much stats and graphs. Transparency is important.

All right, enough talking. Of course, it's inevitable that things will happen in the future that we could not foresee. But we give it our best efforts, and try to convince people that we are caring and dedicated, and will do our best to to keep SatoshiCarnival running.

Thanks again for your thoughtful and inspiring comment, jjc326.

Sincerely,
~W-M

The Affiliate System and Reward System are now functional!

Login, click on the Account window, and at the bottom, you will see your referral link.  When you refer a player, you will see their name in a table below your referral link, as well as their Reward Tier, and their accumulated Rewards.  This system will replace the Lottery offer mentioned earlier. (FAQ and upcoming T&C to be amended)

The Affiliate/Reward system will function as follows:

.1% of all players losses (10% of our commissions, this does not effect Bankroller revenue in any way!) will be re-distributed to Affiliates and Players according to the following schedule.  All payments are made once a month, at the beginning of the following month and will be placed directly into player accounts from our commissions.  All achieved Reward Tiers apply to the upcoming month as well (if you achieve Jester you will receive Rewards as Jester the following month as well).  If wagering requirements aren't met, the Player will drop down to the Reward Tier according to the Wagered amount of the current month (if you are Jester current month but only wager enough for Harlequin, you will start the next month as Harlequin).  The Player must lose at least .1 BTC in the current month for them and/or the Affiliate to qualify for Rewards that month.  Full details will be made available in the FAQ and T&C by launch.  But we're too excited to keep this info private, so here is the breakdown.

Tier 0 - Greenhorn:  .1% of player losses to Affiliate

Tier 1 - Harlequin (>=500 BTC wagered):  .01% of player losses back to player, .09% of player losses to Affiliate

Tier 2 - Jester (>=10000 BTC wagered):  .025% of player losses back to player, .075% of player loses to Affiliate

Tier 3 - Magician (>=100000 BTC wagered):  .05% of players losses back to player, .05% of player losses to Affiliate

This system is still a bit rough, and there will be finishing touches before and after launch.  The tracking system and accounting all work however.

Affiliates and Players will both begin earning as soon as we launch!

*  We are on schedule to Launch on Tuesday June 10th at 10am ET.  Full Launch schedule coming.
