Have the  reimbursement payments gone out yet?

Not yet, had a delay on the front-end for the reimbursement table so will send out the first payment after the commission this sunday/monday and it will be reflected in your WALLET window.  Thanks for your patience while we sort that whole situation out.

No worries just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it.

I thought the same, nothing showed up on my wallet either, but at least i know it's being worked on.

Expect more info to show in your WALLET menu soon, as well as very important Lag modifications Smiley

Wiebe will be making a more detailed post later.

Bankroll History

On 06/27/2014, SatoshiCarnival was attacked. You are one of the bankrollers who unfortunately lost some money during this attack. (Official Statement)
The house repays these losses over time.

Money you lost:  0.05343879

Money repaid:  0.00000000

Nice, that seems to be about right.

Thank you.

Thanks zimmah for posting that.  The information in the window has been updated to better reflect the situation.  First reimbursement payment to go out Monday.

We are 1 week away from releasing the custom slider in To-the-Moon before development of the next game progresses.

Houseroll is now at BTC75 and the maxbets growing.

Happy planet hunting Smiley

Reimbursements going out tomorrow ET, all affected bankrollers please check your WALLET for updates.

In light of the unfortunate Prcdice situation would like to remind everyone of a couple important things:

  • We now use HMAC sha-512, our provably fair as well as hashing are extremely sound
  • We now employ an automatic trailing stop loss which functions by having every single bet acknowledge the absolute house profit value.  Any time that value is x greater than the current house profit value, the betting and withdrawals automatically shut off.  x currently = 2btc
  • We now have the ability to manually stop betting and withdrawals for individual accounts as well as to suspend accounts inc IPs

We are serious about trying to be the fairest and most secure bitcoin gambling outlet.  Only by achieving that to a satisfactory level can we focus our efforts on releasing truly creative and enjoyable games.

So basically if someone finds an error in your system OR actually beats the odds and wins big - you will 100% stop that person from actually getting what they deserved? Oh great.

No, that wasn't said or implied.  I suppose inherent biases can influence any material if you wish to interpret what was written negatively.

What was written,  is that we have precautions in place to protect all our members, both players and bankrollers, and ourselves.

If you don't have experience with online gaming operators, or any gaming operators for that matter including brick & mortar, these are protections that some operators use nefariously, those operators don't end up lasting long or succeeding beyond a certain point.  We intend to last long and succeed.

In time, as situations arise that threaten individual members, they will appreciate our safeguards.  Also, the trailing stop loss will be increased as we progress, of course.

if someone finds an exploit in the website it's their duty to report it and not to exploit it.

If you find an exploit in your banks security and hack their servers and steal a million from the bank, do you think the bank will say 'congratulations on on your million dollars' or do you think they will send the FBI and CIA and get you in jail?

If you win big by chance, than of course you can keep it, but the last time it was due to an exploit and they were intentionally attacking the website. Which is basically theft.

To add to zimmah's astute post.

We have an onus to players to ensure their legitimate winnings are promptly paid and that our engine operates as outlined, and to uphold our T&C.

We have an onus to bankrollers to ensure their funds are safe, and any illegitimate winnings which violate our T&C are barred from leaving our casino.  In the case the perpetrator manages to do just that, we have a responsibility to reimburse the bankrollers.

We do not have any responsibility to protect perpetrators that seek to violate our T&C.  In fact, our duty is to thwart them from doing just that by any means possible.  Fortunately for our honest members, we have many terrific ways of doing just that.

To clarify further about the trailing stop loss, this is not meant to cap legitimate winnings.  It just gives us a brief opportunity to ensure all play is indeed fair.  At which point we will not hesitate to re-start the betting and withdrawals for further fair play.  We generate revenue on every single bet that takes place on average.  Sometimes members run hot and can win big fairly, that is very welcome and we would be happy to process any such withdrawals promptly.

Or maybe the owners should pay for a pen-test prior for a real developer to assess their site and not just do a 2 week test to allow someone else pen-test the site prior to actually getting funds on it.  But the owner told he felt confident in his and his partner skills when I warned him of possible attacks.

Every site can get hacked, and a lot has, its how you deal with it.  Now Satoshicarnival has a payback plan for investors and while that is great if I was an investor I would be demanding that the ownership pays back my investment out of their own pockets now, and if they want to increase commissions so they could payback them selves I would be okay with it.

Indeed, any site can be attacked, big to small, from government run defense laboratories controlling the most dangerous of materials, to small teams progressing with their bitcoin casino project.

We have real developers and will continue to do our best, thanks for your concern Smiley

A reminder to all, please only utilize coins that you can afford to lose as a member of our site, either as a bankroller or player.

While we will always do our best to be fair and secure, there are no certainties in this realm and gambling is risky.  We have designed a lot of transparency to help assure ourselves and our members of that fairness.

The ultimate goal is to offer cool and fun games.  Our bankroll is still open to bankrollers, but the total wagered at the moment is quite low relative to the current houseroll level.  We will be increasing our efforts to attract more players to try our very enjoyable first game, which will get a cool modification very soon. Smiley

Players tired of traditional dice games will find us that more much refreshing, and are invited to join our growing and friendly community.  In time, our hope is that there will be many exciting games to play.

All bitcoin businesses are pioneers, and bitcoin players are gambling pioneers.  We are all helping to move things forward while having fun.

Investing in this site is a joke.

I invested a day or 2 before the attack and the bankroll was fairly small.

debankroll   -0.01676756   0   0.00000000   Tue 08 Jul 2014 10:53:21 PM UTC
weekly commision   0.00000000   -0.00001158   0.01685475   Mon 07 Jul 2014 12:00:01 AM UTC
weekly commision   0.00000000   0   0.01674846   Mon 30 Jun 2014 12:00:01 AM UTC
Attack - Money you lost: 0.00353189
bankroll   0.02000000   0   0.02000000   Thu 26 Jun 2014 04:50:36 PM UTC

The best part is they are starting reimbursments

Money you lost: 0.00353189
Money repaid:    0.00003100

That is going to take a lifetime to get back allthough a small ammount I feel bad for the guys with 1BTC+ in this.

there are never more than 9 players online at a time and your lucky to see a bet over 0.00002500.

The majority of players are just using the faucet to store bets while betting litteraly 2 cents at a time.

The majority of bets are this- 0.00000010 just watch the size of bets for 10 minutes 80% of bets are less than 1/10th of a cent.

For the last 2 weeks I havent gone up 0.0001.

The biggest bankrollers have been nothing but understanding and supportive.  I guess they understand we just recently launched and are still developing.

You are comparing our first 3 weeks being live to how the next 3 weeks will progress, and the following 3 weeks thereafter etc.  Not very fair, but I understand your frustration and apologize for things not having commenced as smoothly as we had hoped.  We will do our best to progress well from here.

Should also note ChiliPowder, we haven't really begun marketing yet, but it is certainly time.  We overcame a pretty big obstacle, the site is running virtually lag free, and the bet slider addition is coming.  Things don't happen overnight for the most part, but we're going to do our best to get there.

Some people on this forum have likely already learned I find it difficult to remain quiet, and it's important for this trait to be exercised here for a moment.

I really think it should be understood where us 3 are coming from with this project.

Christian, our backend, is a network security expert with a full-time job and a family including a newborn, who has done an incredible job bringing us to this point.  The admin panel alone is testimony to that, and is something that likely rivals the backend functionality and administration of some highly successful traditional online casinos.  I am very happy with our security at this point and will continue to push an already serious Christian to deliver the most protected offering we can muster.

Wiebe, is a very talented young developer, just turning 20, and excited about his undergraduate studies beginning this fall.  His coding ability and visual work are stunning and it's really amazing having him as part of this project.  He truly cares about what he produces and I could tell from the first time speaking to him, that he only undertakes what he genuinely believes in.

I am for the most part in between online poker as a profession and starting my legal studies which I turned my back on when finding online poker, and have delayed now further for this bitcoin journey which not only offers potential prosperity but also an opportunity to help craft the future of certain niches we may find ourselves having developed some relative expertise in.  Something many of you can attest to in one way or another as well which is why you're on this forum.

It's safe to say any one of us three will continue on our chosen disciplines regardless what becomes of Satoshicarnival.  We will continue on trading sleep for progress in this passion project, mainly because all three of us already lose sleep with ideas bouncing around in our heads.  The game ideas we discuss and have in mind and on the drawing boards are really very interesting and cool and bitcoin makes them possible.  But it should be made clear, when we envision our success, we look out 6 months, 1 year, not to next week.

There are very many plans for our casino, from more features to many new games, some of which are completely designed from scratch from the bottom up.  This however will all take time.

We have allowed public bankrolling for a variety of reasons, because it helps us take bigger bets, because it helps us gain exposure, because it allows others to share in this journey and grow with us.  We currently only keep 15% commissions.  Even if we were successful today, that wouldn't come close to compensating all of us for our time in the past several months and continued devotion and hard work in the future.

All of that is okay because all that matters is the end goal which is still quite a ways out.  We could have simply waited until that very point to launch, instead we decided to grow with the community.  We don't regret that decision regardless how it may be perceived.  I am sorry nonetheless for the exploit, and in time am confident bankrollers will be repaid.

For now, anyone interested in what we have done so far and have planned, continue to support us and grow with us, we'll try our best not to disappoint you.

Bet slider coming this weekend.

Set your own odds of winning.

1%-98% chance with variable house edge.  This will be another planet alongside all the fixed options.  In fact it will be a cool Wormhole feature.   Cool

See you there players.

Very odd. This is a known bug in the styling but it has been fixed yesterday. Could you try refreshing using Shift+F5?
If the bug still is there, I would like to know what operating system you're on, and the exact chrome version (see menu->About Chrome).

Hi all, couple updates:

Total Wagered has now for the first time surpassed the house roll with many new players enjoying the Wormhole - custom bet slider that is essentially like other dice games but much funner, easy to use, and with a lower house edge.

We are also about to start contracting a bitcoin transaction security expert who is a software developer of 20 years with in-depth knowledge of bitcoin security - transaction malleability, wallet processing etc.

Good luck, have fun, be confident we're doing all we can to keep our site fair and safe.
