I would say starting out with faucets is a good idea! But your best bet would be to keep track of the altcoin section. And just buy a very promising altcoin cheap. Like I did with mintcoin Im gettin a steady Satoshi income every 20 days! Its much more then the faucets payout.

Please ellaborate, sounds interresting.
For newbies to Crypto Currency, faucets is a good start. It's always good to experiment with everything, to weed {excuse the pun} out , the bad from the good.
But before you dive into every faucet availlable, first check in with some forums, like this, to see which one is paying. Some promise HUGE payout, to draw people, but they seldom pay out.

Faucets will let you earn a very little amount of satoshis, to gain some profit I always recommend writing posts on the forum to learn more about cryptocurrencies and then sell the signature space.

Hit the faucets and as the above poster said get your post count up so you can join a signature campaign.

Faucets are created to get traffics and hence ad revenue. The owners then share part of the revenue with the faucet users. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I don't know why you guys are recommending faucets. They're not really that great to even start off earning bitcoins. Waste of time. You'd be better off earning some money in real life through small jobs or chores and then buying bitcoins with it.

If you want a already made, good list of legitimate and paying earn sites / faucets check out www.earnbtc.weebly.com. It's definitely a good way to get started.

Exactly. You can only get something like a few hundred satoshi for solving the captcher. Ofc you can do it multiple times a day, and can use 10 or 20 faucets, but the amount you can get a day is still very very low.

The day I started using bitcoins I earned some from faucets and earn sites. That's what got me hooked. It's no shame in using faucets as a newbie.

I checked out the first lite listed and it looked very suspicious cuz of amount of ads.... In general after reading this thread i figured out for myself that faucets are basically useless. Thats kind of disappointing.

As useless as they may seem, they are not made to get you rich. They are mearly a gateway for newcomers where as they have the ability to receive a small amount, get a handle on how the wallet functions and inspire them to dig deeper on the basic mechanics. The ads on those pages are a chance for the faucet owner to get a small amount of income(and fill the faucet), although in the end they rarely make a high enough payout to make profit.

First of all this can get you a fair amount of free bitcoins if you are patient, so don't expect to get rich of it, it's still free btc so let's grab as much as we can.
Second, we will be combining a few sites to max the profit. It should be noted that these sites pay amounts of BTC that would amount per hour of much below minimum wage based on how much time you would spend on visiting the sites and completing captcha. Even by third world standards the amount of BTC you earn by using these sites is very small.

I think faucets are alright for newbies to get their first taste of the Bitcoin experience. After I downloaded my wallet, the first fraction of a bitcoin I earned from faucets. I spent an hour filling captchas and after reaching the minimum payout limit, I was able to get 5,000 satoshis. Later on I found out that the 5,000 satoshis I had was only worth about 3 cents and would probably cost more in fees to send but it was interesting to see how the whole thing worked.
Then of course I bought a proper amount of bitcoins from an exchange. My ultimate goal is to have 1 bitcoin. I am already about 25 percent there!
So yeah, faucets aren't all that bad.
And remember when faucets used to give away whole bitcoins? Well, if the Bitcoin market cap reaches a level similar to gold in the future then each bitcoin should be worth $300,000. If it replaces fiat entirely then each bitcoin should be worth $1 million. Those 5,000 satoshis would then be worth $15.00-$50.00. Not too bad for an hour's work!

BTC First of all this can get you a fair amount of free bitcoins if you are patient, so don't expect to get rich of it, it's still free btc so let's grab as much as we can. Second, we will be combining a few sites to max the profit. - freebitco.in ( freebitco.in ) this site can payout really high amount but you'll need to have a few referals in order to do so, but it's still one with the best and comfirmed payouts - dailybitcoins.org ( dailybitcoins.org ) This is one of my favorite btc sites. Request a payment every hour, try to unleast, to recieve a payment and a VOUCHER. Now, redeem those vouchers and you can later sell them at Peerbet.org (just type in hte chat @voucher and paste your voucher code) or you can advertise with those vouchers. It is good to combine freebitco.in with coinurl and then put that shortened link, so you also get btc when someone views your ad - Coinurl.com ( Coinurl.com ) great site if you have your blog or a website or in a combination with dailybitcoins. Don't have anything else much to say about this - CoinAd.com ( CoinAd.com ) My favorite site. Very simple PTC faucet with a fairly high payouts that you can earn in 2-3 days (payouts take some time). Strongly Recomend this one - bitcrate.me and coinbox.me ( bitcrate.me ) ( coinbox.me ) Best colection of faucets, you can hit the minimum withdraw within a few hours and payouts are farely fast, every 6 hours I think. I also STRONGLY recomend these two So these are my favorite. If anyone has any suggestion, tips, question, feel free to post. Cheers and good luck! I laud you for not including referral links , unlike most of these posts whose only aim is to get a few cents off referral links. These sites offer very meagre earnings though. You would have better luck searching in the services section for easy online tasks and once you accumulate sufficient posts and forum time , you can join signature campaigns. Posting on the forums in a contributive manner is a better investment of your time.

Not bashing on this thread, but making expecting bitcoin off faucets or anything with minimal work will not get you anywhere.
But, the difference with it is if you do use these sites. Get a chance at looking at a better plan for referrals, thats a different story.
The hardest part like anything will be getting referrals, but thats up to your plan to decide.
Eg: paying people for referrals, etc.
Keep in mind that the whole point of building it would be passive stream of bitcoin. And know when to continue your efforts since you dont want it to die out.
