You can't "mine" it, because it's POS.

It your coins haven't been online for some time, they will be so "keen" to stake that they will stake during blockchain download. They will not be accepted because you wasn't in sync with the rest of us. However, they will stake again immediately after the blockchain finished downloading, and that last one will be accepted.
