my units arrived today, and i've got a problem - it only hashes at 130GH. All 8 boards are connected in series, red wires on the same side for each connector, with the rpi at the 'bottom'
Ive checked the cables for snugness and eveything is wired up properly by the looks of it, but the second board onward do not get warm or produce a hashrate. Is there something im not doing right? each unit has its own EVGA 1300, so there is total overkill of quality 12V power.
otherwise, the kit was quite good - arrived in one piece (though a good kick to the box by a DHL courier would likely cause damage) and is a nice design both for fan placement/volume and minimalism of costs.
would like to see a class 8 or better SD card though since the RPi can go through class 4 cards quickly during reboots or power failures.
is there a way to see the actual cgminer process going on? I doubt it recognises anything other than the first board but id love to check the live log and settings
1) swapped to the newest SD image 2) switched out the cable between boards 1&2 working fine now - not sure if the issue was the wire or the firmware, but it reports hashing and the pool seems to be getting good results - should take a few hours to produce a correct estimate though. still looking for a way to track the actual cgminer stats to see the error rates and per-board details

Can someone host the RPI images stateside or on mega possibly dropbox? They are such a pain to try and DL from Biadu. It always messes up. I want to get the latest and finish my review but it keeps failing to DL.
Working on exactly this

What is with the 2 pin connectors? Do I need an adapter to hook this thing up to my power supply? or does it just run off the 6 pin?
The first units only had those 2-pin deals, but your'e good with just using the 6pin PCIe for power on the units that have them.

still looking for a way to track the actual cgminer stats to see the error rates and per-board details If you SFTP in, under /home/pi/Garden you'll find "miner.php" Copy that over to /var/www then go to [your.controller's.ip.address]/miner.php Good old fashioned no-frills CGminer web interface. Won't give you per board details but at least shows you HW errors. That said.... (Note I'm not gonna do a full tutorial here because I was just messing around myself, so YMMV) As far as actually seeing the CGMiner output, I briefly tried a thing - I installed "screen" to their OS (which seems to be some sort of raspbian) and then edited the start.sh command to use screen instead of 'nohup' to call CGminer. Then you can just SSH in and sudo screen -r to view the miner output. I wasn't thrilled with this. Now, it's worth noting their fork of CGminer doesn't seem to have a fully functional TUI - so, working with the API is probably a better way to get data from CGminer. if nothing else, you can edit the start.sh command which currently sends the output to /dev/null to send it's output to some sort of a log file. It seems to generate a LOT of output so I'm not sure how fast this would fill up. But if you just wanted to run it for a while to see whats up just change /dev/null to like /home/pi/cg.log and then pluck the log file to rummage through for useful data. If you're savvy I'm sure you can install some sort of a log-rotator to compress and save old logs - but I haven't tried such.

^got the miner.php working after about 10min of learning how to do some ssh (putty) codes.
im interested in overclocking, is there any particular hazards of going higher than 310? rockminer runs at 320, up to 350 with error rates not much higher

btcgarden_miner - still waiting for an answer to my yesterday sent P.M.Hi, my miner arrived today, and i've got a problem - 1 board not hashed. Not alone, or together with others 3. I read the Troubleshooting PDF, no help. When I put in CGminer board nums 1, is hasrate 150GH/s When I put in CGminer board nums 2, is hasrate 300GH/s When I put in CGminer board nums 3, is hasrate 450GH/s, after hour 470Gh/s
When I put CGminer board nums 4, miner hasrate drops to 200GH/s This board does not work well alone with the Rasperry Pi. No hashrate at all. I switched the cables and power cords nothing has helped.
The power supply is Aurum Pro Series 1200W, 4x PCI-E I tried also with the other 1250W power supply, exactly the same.
I've already spent four hours of testing. What's next? Best Regards Tupsu

You're lucky, increasing speeds on mine does way more to drive up power consumption than it does to drive up poolside hashrate. The error rate doesn't go up much but "local rejects" sure does.

From the guides it looks like this miner's firmware only supports static IP addresses. Is this correct? Is it possible to use a DHCP address with the default firmware?

I think I remember the 7-19 firmware adds DHCP.

I bought one Set of btcgarden-AM-V1 last week and did not have any coupons. For the same $/GH price you can buy a set of 2 btcgarden-AM-v1 1.2TH/s $1,020.00 + postage $100 (not quite sure, because the shipping for one cost last week $80) Total 1.90 BTCor 3 x Antminer S3, 1.3TH/s 2.04 BTC+ free postage. I want to buy much cheaper. 4 days ago, I bought 3 x Antminer S3 only 1.92BTC 3x S3 consumes Every hour 250W less energy, where a set of 2 btcgarden-AM-v1 . For me it's 20 euro per month. As for S3, I have to pay more duty , Because they are so damn honest its custom bills, it does not matter which one to buy.
