bitcoin did not cause world hunger

+1 also add the fact that las vegas alone uses more electric then bitcoins. so should we blame casino's for world hunger, they have been around longer Forget Las Vegas. Macau practically takes the food out of Southeast Asia's mouth.

I find that hard to believe. In any case there is a lot more starvation in our future. Every hour of the day there are more people than the hour before. I hope we don't overshoot K in my lifetime.

Guessing by your name, you look someone belonging to a developing muslim country like pakistan or afghanistan, and i believe that each and every person in a developing country would have atleast seen what is hunger and how is it caused? and do you think that before the btc was released no one slept hungry? do you mean that in 2008, each and every person got full meals?

money and/or electricity do(es) not feed people. so actually it is not. actually the problem is just an issue of wrong distribution and bitcoin is a tool that can change they way money is distributed. it brought banking to people who never had the chance to get a bank account for example.

The thread should be titled: Can Bitcoin end hunger?
Perhaps for some. The good thing is that a bitcoiner in the western world can now send coins directly to a person he wants to support in a 3rd world country. They only need somewhere to meet to get to know. I mean bitcoin takes the shortcut and we do not need to donate indirectly to big charityfunds and not knowing if it ever arrives.

This man speaks the truth. How in the h does bitcoin related to world hunger? If you observe the animals in the wild, you'd notice only the strong survives. It should be same for humans but of course, we have the bleeding hearts.

some ppl say with the whole electricity bill of the whole miners you could end the world hunger.
/discus
Well most definitely! I mean, there were no hungry people in the world, ever, and then bitcoin came along and all of a sudden we have all these hungry people everywhere. Obviously bitcoin caused it! Btw, when you say "some ppl", you mean yourself right? Or if you mean people other than yourself, perhaps you should say who?

Why is K static? I ain't no farmin' expert, but I'm pretty sure yield density in farmed crops has been shooting up faster than farms can be foreclosed on.

Bitcoin is defenitly not the cause of hunger in the world. It could maybe cause problems, if it keeps using so much elecricity. Thats why I think that the so called Green coins like: Mintcoin, PPcoin. Have much more potential because they harm the world alot less.

The only reason Bitcoin might cause one to be hungry, is because it's quite hard to find places to buy food with it

World hunger isn't even a financial problem. You could throw money at it for years and not solve it - as they have. Its a problem of infrastructure and politics. I recall a story that in the 1980 Ethiopian famine there were silos full of grain in one part of the country, while the west raised money to airdrop grain brought from outside, impoverishing those farmers that had good land.

It's been a while since my population biology classes. But this is a simplified equation that is used for wild animals. It assumes a static capacity. As you imply, humans have already greatly increased the efficiency of farming and our ability to feed the world. However, that can't go on forever. It may even make a crash worse when it happens.

Central banking has caused more world hunger than any Bitcoin mining electricity bill could ever dream of doing.

Thanks to what some people have said, I'm starting a Stamp Out Termites Today (SOTT) foundation due to the tons of methane them worthless critters release into the atmosphere every second. Gotta save the planet! Granted, I don't want to kill 'em all, leaving enough so that they can be put on some endangered species list, then corralled to keep a watchful on eye on them, say near Mesquite, NV, where some tortoises roam.

If bitcoin is successful it will end the world hunger..
As for electricity it will eventually be the cost of transactions and probably less than right now
