Hello
I'm new in this bitcoin thing. I'm deepweb user as you know deepweb users using btc, when i search for btc i saw btc has great potential, then i read some documents, there was pool mining for personal computers. I have GTX 650 ti boost, as i read mining pool is best way for earning btc.
I have some questions.
1 : How much bitcoin i can earn with this poor gpu ? I can work in pool 8 hour in a day.
2 : Using another operating system can boost performance ? like linux.

is this gpu enough for begining level ?

I'm open for help Smiley
Thanks..

1. Nothing, 8 hours means nothing, 24 hours means nothing either.
2. No, that won't help.

To mine bitcoin, you need to buy specialized mining hardware, called ASICs. Please watch this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GmOzih6I1zs

That's a little bit wrong. You could earn a VERY small amount (like a few satoshi) if you have free electricity - which I'm guessing you do since you can only mine for 8 hours a day (maybe you're doing it at work?)

Remember that if you don't have permission to use the electricity it's theft. At least in my opinion.

Yes I wouldnt mine for bitcoins,
But you have a other option,
Look at the altcoin section, and just just find a good altcoin.
Just look for a few days wich coins are new,

They have to get alot of post
Preferably has some new technology
No premine or only if the dev is really clear about it
Just anything you think has potential

Then you mine it and hold it.

A VERY few amount that is so little you can't even pay the tx fee to get paid. Haha, so funny you are.

If I were getting into mining with GPU at this point I would not bother with BTC. Look into new coins that have yet to be pumped significantly/are not yet traded on exchanges. That is your best chance -- to load up on new coin that can be mined at low difficulty, then hold and sell for BTC when it gets pumped. Sometimes you just end up with some worthless scam coin though, and pump never comes Tongue

With an old gpu, you can mine less than what you would receive from faucets and giveaways here. So, don't bother mining bitcoin. Some would tell you are better off mining an altcoin and trade those for btc on an exchange. It is true in some ways. You will have to pick an altcoin with a potential, something difficult to do in the sea of alts, especially when you are new to cryptos.

If you really want to mine, try your luck with litecoin. You will not get much from litecoin either, the scrypt asics are dominating that too. At least you will have a taste of what mining is.

Do you have free electricity?  Cheesy

Then it wouldnt matter what alt you mine (well, in terms of potential losses).... because its true, there are a lot of altcoins that are totally useless scams and that will fail given a bit of time. Still crypto is such a world of pump and dumps, so much opportunity to be had!

I'm new on here but not to mining. Its an arms race atm with manufacturers bringing out more and more powerful asic units. These are specialist machines that outperform our GPUs on SHA256 and use less electricity.

I would point your GPUs to either a new alt coin, or a multipool who will mine the most profitable coin. Some will pay out in BTC as well. Good luck.

I dont think you can get alot of litecoins with just 1 videocard.
Your best bet is indeed mine the best altcoins, and exhange for bitcoins.

Just point it at a multipool. You might not profit, but it's better than nothing.

Just dont give it a try, because it will be only waste of energy! Try the new coins there are new one every day. Also using different operating system will not help you so much. Just have to know that the miners who are for 64 bit windows are much faster then those for 32 bit system.
