Hi Everyone!

http://www.nycbitcoinfair.com

So we're having the very first NYC Bitcoin Fair in the city with over 30+ food/arts vendors with bitcoin booths and scheduled Bitcoin presentatioins/talks at the fair. We're looking to reach out to the community to those that are willing to support this endeavor. Much of the fair is bootstrapped and its only a few of us volunteering to make all of this happen with what time we can spare.

This fair is modeled after how the open source CMS Drupal community runs their events in NYC (http://www.nyccamp.org/about-nyc-camp). They fund their all day events using help from the community and sponsors that want to help foster the space. They never charge a fee to the public too. I've been to a few Bitcoin conferences and the prohibitive ticket prices turns many away. Also if you noticed at every Bitcoin conference, rarely do you find someone selling food/drinks for bitcoin!

Anyone that would like to be a community sponsor please pm me. Your name and logo would be listed on our event guide and website.

Thanks,
NYC Bitcoin Fair

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I like what you're doing, as well. Your event sounds VERY similar to the CoinFest we held in Canada. I think we should collaborate.

We work hard to promote Bitcoin adoption and the decentralization of society. You can support our efforts by donating BTC to 35wDNxFhDB6Ss8fgijUUpn2Yx6sggDgGqS
