Am I the only one getting zero response when e-mailing the various exchanges; are they haunted or something?
Specifically talking about
- Bitcoinica (support inquiry sent 11 days ago, still no answer after several bump e-mails)
- TradeHill (support inquiry sent 21 days ago, still no answer after several bump e-mails)

I truly don't get why serious businesses treat their customers like dirt.

What are people's experience with the MtGox support?

My experiences with MtGox was excellent.

They reply in less than 24hours.
+1. Was frustrating to have my account info leaked way back when, but they've always been quick to respond to my inquiries, and offering a free Yubikey was appreciated. I've been quite pleased with them and their advancements in service.

SealsWithClubs poker room has  over 400 players online. Buy in from .01 to 60btc.      BTCSportsMatch lets you bet sports with vig free lines!  Best kept secret in bitcoin....          LocalBitcoins.com is very user-friendly now for bank transfers.  You don't have to live close to trade when in the same currency area.
Electrum client is awesome. Try it. And please stop sending bitcoins to sites run by security newbies, or don't complain when you lose everything.

E-mail is a horrible method for communicating for services that have more than just a few open issues or customer conversations occurring simultaneously.

That's why services like Mt. Gox use help desk / incident management software where each inquiry has a individual ticket with status and other info.

Bitcoinica has a private messaging system:

TradeHill apparently manually posts customer e-mails into their ticketing / incident system.
