It surprises me how the  so called 'Business Insider' can get something so simple...so wrong.

Kinda makes you wonder what else the media is getting wrong.... (That was sarcastic)

Perhaps you're right, Yankee, but look what I found that I won't have found otherwise if this tid-bit about Satoshi wasn't there: http://www.businessinsider.com/if-this-guy-has-his-way-youll-only-need-100-to-invest-in-startups-2012-1

The link within that article led me here: http://wefunder.com/petition

Forget about the petition aspect for a second. This idea has wings, albeit I believe it's been tried before with Bitcoin. But by teaming up with Tom Merello, it'll be like Kivastarter on Rails.

Ya I heard about WeFunder, its a great idea.

Hopefully between SOPA, WeFunder, Bitcoin and other legal grey areas this year will bring us some good news  Smiley

Bitcoin was rampantly popular among geeks in Silicon Valley for a while last year. It was touted as something that would replace modern currencies—a purely digital currency that can be transferred directly from person to person over the internet

"Was"? Bullshit. It is.

Hehehehe... if Bitcoin is a company and Satoshi "founded it", and the btc's are thought of as shares in the system, then perhaps the Business Insider should've mentioned that Bitcoin outperformed any other corporation on their list in terms of 2011 price performance.

While I don't like to get caught up in the fact that Bitcoin can be a great speculative investment, I'm amazed that I've not yet seen any mention that "Bitcoin was the best investment in 2011 by an order of magnitude." Equities, bonds, commodities... nothing compared to Bitcoin from Jan 1 to Dec 31 in 2011. Every financial magazine in the world should have at least mentioned this interesting fact.

In spite of what Bitcoin does in the next several months will be overshadowed my Facebook's IPO. I'm putting 20K in that and cashing out the next day or two. The hope is to at least double my investment. Worse case scenario, I lose a small percentage.
