Probably sometime next year.
Yes.
Will it be reusable by others, since it's open source? As in, kind of like with free forum software? Or is it just for code auditing?

I'm an idiot for just now discovering this sub-section, opting to bump this post and put it on my scant watchlist in hopes of reading the latest as to when the new forum will be released.

As active as James' twitter account which BTW he has never mentioned bitcoin on in spite of being awarded a ~$1.5M USD contract? Even Julie if mum. Keyword: Slickage.

Probably sometime next year. Yes.
is it next year yet? to be Honest. I wouldn't change much. BCT best stick with SMF 1.1.19 and there is enough cash to release a bespoke version. nice things to have: - top-level Trust algo - polls that reset - polls that can be deleted - a LOGO ... bct has no logo! - tipping / like button

Why do people get away with bumping old threads? "And this is our new Jalapeno BitcoinTalk Forum in a Box, and it doubles as a coffee warmer. It'll be available to the public in two weeks." <humor at theymos' expense>

We'll be providing more of a schedule moving forward. There are a lot of things to do at the time. If you pay attention to our github history, you can see that we have work in many branches happening at the same time and also contributions from a few folks. Commit history: https://github.com/epochtalk/epochtalk/commits/masterOther projects: https://github.com/epochtalkWe take privacy very seriously and we're engaged in a huge migration project for this forum. Although working with Theymos hasn't been the fastest, we're trying to ensure that everything is done correctly. There are also a few things regarding the privacy of this forum that we can't put in public repositories. (These are in private repos.) There are 2-3 sections we'll push to the beta first. We'll have a clearer schedule for this in the upcoming week. Sorry for the lack of updates. Will do better moving forward.

Considering you made this post three years ago, I assume you were making a joke, right? That was the approximate timeline, but requirements change/evolve, things grow bigger than initially planned, and here we are, still waiting Most of the work's done so it shouldn't take much longer for those that still care.

When you say evolve, do you mean from like apes to humans? LOL I don't really care how long it takes as long as it lives up to the initial promise of being free and open. As soon as it's out of beta I want a copy.
