Hi I'd like to announce that our new Bitcoin gift cards are now on sale.

http://bitcoingiftcard.org/images/card_upright.jpghttp://bitcoingiftcard.org/images/box_of_bitcoins.jpg

These cards are denominated in dollars, with amounts of $5, $20, $50, $100 and $500
Cards are on sale now at:
http://www.bitcoingiftcard.org

A few days after you purchase gift cards through our website, you'll receive your gift cards in the mail.
Scratch off the secret code on the back and type it into our website to convert your dollars into Bitcoins
at the current exchange rate.  You can then withdraw bitcoins to any bitcoin address, or use the giftcard
itself as a paper wallet.  Cards on sale this week are 92% pure which means that each card will lose only 8%
of it's face value when converted it into Bitcoins.

But right now, these cards are 5% off if you pay with Bitcoin and we have no shipping fees.
That means you can convert some of your Bitcoins into physical gift cards for a fee of only 3.00%

The cool thing about these cards is that they can easily be re-sold or given away as gifts to people who
are new to Bitcoin.  When redeeming a gift card, you can choose our "use this gift card as my paper wallet"
feature.  This is a wallet solution which asks you to set a password for that card.  The card's secret code
acts as a second, physical factor of security.  This wallet solution is completely anonymous and extremely
easy to use.

To purchase gift cards, please visit http://www.bitcoingiftcard.org

I think the idea is interesting, but you lost me on the purity. You say that you "only lose 8% of the face value." Does this mean that it's a fee of 8%? ie. if you bought the $100 card it's really only good for $92? Or that it will only be worth up to 8% less in BTC than it is today (being that if you bought 1 BTC worth and the price went up, you would be guaranteed 0.92 BTC)?

Hi ranlo, yes it's basically an 8% fee, so a $100 card at 92% purity would actually be worth $92.

Cards can redeemed for bitcoins through our website at any time, but the exchange rate that you get
for a 92% pure card would always be about 8% higher than whatever is currently being offered on CampBX.
For an 80% purity card, the exchange rate would be about 20% too high.

We added the "purity score" to these cards because we want them to be re-sellable in brick-and-mortar stores.
These kind of sellers would need to be able make a profit by selling the cards at face value, and giving each card a
purity was one way of making the profit margin flexible for different cards.

That is a really interesting concept. Does this also mean that if stores want to sell them, they can pick their own purities? And how would that work when it comes to buying from you in bulk?

These cards are basically just a cool way to give Bitcoin to a newbie.
For someone who has never used bitcoin before, scratching off one of these cards and
then setting a password to protect the card is a very simple and secure way to hold
bitcoins.  Much easier than registering for an account on BlockChain.info or storing
bitcoins on a native wallet.

Yes eventually we want to switch to allowing the purity to be chosen at checkout.  Lower purity cards would be sold at a cheaper price, but end purchasers would get less bitcoin.
We don't have discounts for buying in bulk right now, but we are planning to add that as well.

Extremely innovative, best method ive seen for buying bitcoin efficiently, just like buying a cellphone minutes or such.
question: is how is shipping factored in, is it included? also, i dont see the 8% mentioned on the site

EDIT: order made! when can i expect them (canada)? very easy to order, extremely fair price considering shipping and paypal/credit card fees are absorbed.  ill report back when i get them

Hi elianite,

Thanks for ordering!  I'll put your cards in the mail tomorrow; you should receive them before the end of this week despite Memorial Day.

I will need to make the 8% fee more prominent in our checkout process, thank you for that feedback.
