I'm explaining the global nature of Bitcoin to my friend who is working abroad. My mission is to change his way of using western union to send money home. I want him to use Bitcoin instead.

I'm not dutch. I dont even understand dutch. Hence I'm not posting it in the dutch forum.

My friend is working in Netherland. He has very few local friends over there and none heard about Bitcoin. He wants to directly purchase some bitcoin from some website. Can he use Coinbase ? Is there any other option ?

p.s. I know LocalBitcoins is there. But as he is not a local guy over there, he does not want to buy it from any local person. He prefers to use a reliable website for the purchase, i.e. some kind of a Bitcoin shop.

Is he able to use iDeal?

If yes, the best option (in my opinion) is to use bitonic.nl.
Btw, you can pm me for a ref link Wink

They're out of stock. If I buy from resellers I usually just pick the top of the list at the link I just send. It's IDEAL anyway, so if they scam you can complain to your bank.

Thanks for telling me about bitonic.nl. Looks like it can serve the same purpose of coinbase. I'm not sure whether he can use iDeal. Practically I'm ignorant about Dutch payment system altogether. I'll ask him about it...

BitCoinDream, where are you based? He could just set up an account with Transferwise and send you the funds to buy on Coinbase, if Bitonic is still out of stock?
