The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

And seriously, do you really think Libertycoin 2.0's gonna work? Like who would buy it on exchanges? If it's associated with the Libertycoin scam, 2.0's not gonna go anywhere. If you think I'm wrong, go talk to the Asiacoin and Whitecoin guys after their relaunch. You might as well just create a new coin and call it something else.
