For my blog
http://fuk.io i will be making first in history interview [blog is new but has over 1400 email signed people now] and it will be with one of Cex.io/Ghash.io most important guys.
Since its nice opportunity i dont want to miss anything that community would liek to know.
Please post your questions here, the ones i find good i will add to the interview and i will tip with LGD Legendary Coin [if you will have its adress in signature].
Questions can be about Bitcoin, Cex, Ghash or anything else connected to the company.
Greetings,
KC.
I'd like to forward two questions for your consideration, specifically, on CEX.IO's level of service and respect of client's privacy.
On May 1, I accidentally left my cellphone in my pants and threw it in the washing machine. Needless to say, my phone and sim card went kaput.
In the subsequent hours, I had to contact over 3 dozen organizations which the phone was tied to (for various reasons, including 2-Factor Authentication).
To put things into perspective, my bank reset my online account within four minutes. Cryptsy did it in about twenty-odd minutes after confirming my identity (via the security question). CEX.IO, on the other hand, took
27 days to do so. In case anyone thinks I am exaggerating, I embed below my original request, and their final response yesterday.
Needless to say, several of my request for updates went unanswered along the way (and no one offered an apology either).
So, my first question is, is this the level of service we should expect from the biggest BTC miner on the planet? If so, is this level of incompetency symptomatic of the entire operation? In my line of work, I have noticed that low service levels rarely occurs randomly. Instead, it is a reflection of an entire company's management culture.
Which brings me to my second question. Over the course of the nightmare, one of the requests forwarded to me was this:
Why on earth would anyone send over their picture, holding their identification documents, to an anonymous person on the internet?
Forgetting for a second how this is completely against the core tenets of Bitcoin (i.e., respect of privacy and trustlessness), what did CEX.IO plan to do with my photograph and identification papers, since we do not have to submit anything during registration? What was CEX.IO planning to compare it against?
For those wondering, my IP address remained constant during the period; my browser remained open; I had full access to my registration email; I successfully answered the secret question.
So, my second question is, does CEX.IO respect the privacy of its clients?I hope CEX.IO's owner can illuminate me on the issue since their Customer Service is evidently above such trivial issues.
