I'm sure there are thousands of phony and silly deaththreats issued everyday on twitter, but the authorities usually take them pretty seriously. People really shouldn't be making deaththreats regardless of their true intent though.

The guy must hold quite a stash of bitcoin to make threats like that. What he doesn't understand is nothing Andreas can/will make him less rich. Andreas is actually doing the opposite by promoting bitcoin.

I am surprised others missed what's happening here. Bitcoin is only in the hands of privileged people right now. Imagine the people in the world that will never own bitcoins because they're simple too expensive, or they're not writing software, or they live out in a desert.
He didn't say they should be out of the hands of the ordinary, just that they are. It's inequality 101. Not much you can do about it, but still amazing people here misunderstand.
"Death threat to Andreas antonopolous from a person who believes bitcoins should be only in the hands of privileged.." < wrong, paraphrasing. "some BS drama or joke on tweeter is even a thread worthy on here?" < dismiss socio-economic problems, and ignoring that the guy bringing it up.
Even Andreas agrees (before the death threat. Which is out of line, but there will be many more)
I think people will be viciously frustrated as time goes on that there's a new class of wealthy elite.... many got to where they were today because they had a computer in the early day, which in itself, is still out of reach to most of the world.

It's quite simple really. You have the majority of people who don't understand what BTC is & how it works. You have a number of people who have absolutely no clue how to play their cards right in order to properly profit from BTC (without breaking the bank). You have the early adopters who have made stupid amounts of wealth (First come, First Served). As we progress forward, you are going to see more of this phenomenon taking place. If there is a "problem", it's not remotely to do with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is merely an expression of existing wealth, modulated by an individual's particular amount of foresight. If you already have (some small amount of) wealth, you can acquire Bitcoin. So it is with any investment. As far as redistribution of wealth goes, I actually think Bitcoin has done something pretty freakin' awesome. Basement dwelling computer nerds, anarchists, libertarians, supporters of a lot of freedom related movements - all these people had the foresight to get into Bitcoin early, while typical power loving conservative types did not. It may not fit the giving food to starving Ethiopians kind of worldview, but it's still a VERY interesting redistribution of wealth. Those people who believe in freedom, free trade, efficient money, are buying Bitcoins and will benefit. It may not mean free ice creams for all of Africa, but it's still good. people in the world that will never own bitcoins because they're simple too expensive That's just silly or they live out in a desert. Many people in third world places have access to mobile phones. Bitcoin can be a boon to them. See recent news. It's far more likely to become a daily real world currency in places like that than in the richer countries. Maybe they'll benefit when the richer countries do get on board.

I think only a few ppl here "missed what's happening here". Otherwise they wouldn't be here, would they? Knowledge, a good eye for business (or just simple luck) is a great asset and can give you money. Money is power, power is privilege. Negligence and ignorance are common commodities and will yield little gains. The boat is still here and the gates are still open. Cheap rafts in the altcoin section are also available. Everybody still have to choice to adapt and adopt or just walk away. Why we would care about the "viciously frustrated" people who didn't know and/or didn't care?

Why would his threats have anything to do with how many BTC he holds? That seems completely unrelated...

Oh please, we've seen people on Bitcointalk threaten to kill people or attack others before, we've seen it all over the internet, I will say though, that this is precisely the kind of reason why I think we should keep Bitcoin away from the regulators and government as much as possible because crazies like this really are out there.
Dark wallet and projects like it are a great tool to protect other people from persecution over how they spend their money and how much money they have.
Edit: I just tried to read his posts more carefully and they don't not make sense much.
