I don't agree with you. Duterte not like Trump. Imagine what would have happened in America if Trump has tried to fight drug addiction methods of shooting drug dealers? Duterte banal dictator. He has no weight in the world but in his country he is trying to show its strength. I would compare it with Kim Jong-UN.

I don’t know much about politics in the Philippines, but I don’t think he compares to Kim Jong Un. In fact, I don’t think anybody in modern history (other than Hitler, Stalin, Castro and other similar dictators) would compare to Kim Jong Un.

Its the cops again. I guess that statement power corrupts is true.

Human Rights officials found a bunch of undocumented prisoners being hidden in a narrow room behind a book case. The victims claim they were being held by the cops in order to extort money from them.

The cops say they were arrested for bring part of the drug war. So why not just kill them then? What do you think? How can this problem be solved?

The people need to stand up to these criminals and remove them from power. Jail the cops for kidnapping and extortion. Send the message Duterte otherwise we're gonna think ur in on this as well.

Even before Duterte sits on the seat of Presidency in the Republic of the Philippines that trend of money extortion was already been in placed and has been occurring for a long time already. If this kind of cops will not be punished under the law many will follow them and abuse their police power. Hope the government will make or conduct fast investigation and punish those who have violated the law.

Duterte is similar to Trump. He is trying quite hard to fulfill his campaign promises. But it is not going to happen overnight. Eradicating corruption from a country such as the Philippines can take many years, if not decades.

Lesser drug addicts you wont be more afraid of going out at night and he will not also order a bombing into other countries lol

I agree with this. The media is making Duterte's image look bad that can be compared to Trump, and it's very different. Trump firstly is freaking Rich, compared to Duterte, just lives a normal healthy lifestyle. Duterte knows the sources or effects that cause criminality here, the main source of it is DRUGS. That's why he is trying to eradicate it all.

DRUGS are just a vehicle for people's distress. The real problem with pinoy land is the rampant poverty which fuels the corruption and drug taking. He's nothing more than a murderer and a stupid leader. If he focused on poverty things would get better. Without addressing that glaring issue things will stay the same. He can kill a million people it wouldn't change things.

Drugs is an excused of course. Even if you are poor it doesn't mean that you would go and sell drugs. Murderer? Seriously? Where are rhose federal judges from UN who keeps on saying that they will fill a case against him. They cant even provide a single evidence how much more of you?

It has already been happening and always happening everywhere. Some people cannot stop themselves with the greed in them, with the possibility of them getting money from the tax and it's really easy because they have the power to do it. I hope they can lessen it or something.

I don't think that you wouldn't be doing anything, at least you are doing something. Have you done so much as to help people in your own country? It's hard, if you believe you can eradicate the poverty without killing the thing that cost it, then you are wrong with it.

Oh, I can only just wish. There need to be a cultural change in this country. People has gotten used to patronage that they'll just shrug their shoulders and look the other way when they see corruption happening.

It seem to be a widespread problem, even garbage collectors have gotten used to asking people for coins (which they shouldn't, unless you're asking them to take something like an entire sofa). Internet made it easier to catch culprits now but many people wouldn't take risks.

As a guy from philippines. Duterte is one of the Phil presidents who isnt controlled by any other organizations or even oligarchs. he moves on his by his own and does what he thinks is helpful. It's too early to tell if he is good or not enough but we need to wait more of his plans.

That's what I thought also. He makes moves that won't concern any organizations and will do it for the people. Of course there would be a lot of people who would try to bribe him, like the Mighty corporation trying to bribe him. I see some changes from the previous government and it has positive changes.
