Best exchange to buy new alt crypto currencies

I'be been busy with work lately so haven't been paying much attention to this forum and now looking ot get back into it.
I have a quick question for you guys.

I know there are many exchanges out there, but which would you say is the best place to trade BTC with the latest new currencies to come about? Before getting onto mintpal where do they go?

Is Bittrex the best place?
