Define "outperform".

I mean, I assume you're talking about appreciation rates, since we already have a contest about when 1BTC crosses 1oz troy. But appreciation over what scale?

If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

You can always add your 10BTC to the prize pool!

I was going to say;
IIRC, it has already outperformed every asset/commodity/stock ever devised. Back in June '11, BTC was up something along the lines of 33,000% in one year.

10 BTC for the best guess, and when it actually happens the 10BTC could very well be worth $30,000 USD! Um, I'd say off hand "never", but then I can't win anything, so let's say April 19, 2029 just so that I'm one day after Hexadecibel!  Tongue

Did it not outperform silver at some point last year, if not for a brief shining moment?

uhh, never

when do I collect?

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.
