I just watched a 40kish sell. Now it no longer on the charts.  I dashed to mtgox to try and put an order in at a price that apparently never happened.  Gox is a joke.

Now a smaller sell is there.  Is this also a phantom move or is this someone reacting poorly to a phantom move.  Real traders in real markets dont need to waste their time with stupid questions like this.

I bought at 5.4 on Gox...

Really? Not a single one of my charting sites show the price even hitting 5.40

Of course this happened when the price was inching up in the the 5.70s again. The 'big player' got desperate he wasn't gonna get his cheaper coins after all. Holding at 5.45 thus far though, great to see people with some will power not to panic. We'll see what happens.

Clarkmoody handled it well; which implies that the feed from Mt.Gox was maintained and was showing valid data.

After posting their financial information and hardware specifications, why is the community not outraged by these problems in times of "heavy" trading? Problems being defined as slow processesing of trades.  Slow website connectivity, mtgoxlive connectivity, etc.

Many are but MtGox don't seem to care. I bet they will if bitcoinica creates their own exchange and takes the 75% of the business they already make for MtGox with them.

Looking forward to that day! Mtgox is a joke at the moment...

The bid side increased like crazy. Almost right back to where it was previously. But it ALL went away again. I believe it is actually the BAD BIG PLAYER, the evil one (lol) attempting to make people think a huge sell just happened again if they see the ghost lines on MtGox.

I hope all this fails big time for him. This would be quite entertaining to know.

You have to be crazy enough to put money in these exchanges to be in a position to be outraged by these problems.  Wink

I havent risked much money at all.  But I truly care about BTC and I am sure the BTC will not grow until we overcome these exchange inefficiencies.

I mean... youd have to be crazy to buy enough mining great to be outraged by this BIP 16/17 stuff right?

Someone sold 4K into that bid wall and it dissapeared - old story - this time it was a bit more sophisticated by using bots and small increments.
