Its just another layer of obfuscation so that beginners or people that don't want to learn can easily receive bitcoin. Let's say your grandma has a Coinbase account, now she can accept funds at https://coinbase.com/grandma, its easy to remember and she doesn't have to divulge any personal info (email address) in order to receive bitcoin payments from strangers.

I don't know if that is their intention but it's the way I see it.

Really like the idea, it will probably make exchanges more secure. But, on the other side it might also increase the number of impersonators and an increase in Identity theft.

This is nice and all, but nothing really 'wow'. Sure, it might help with sharing an address or something I guess.
I registered in 2013 on bitcointalk and 'Mikez' was available, I'm sure it will stay that way on Coinbase for some time(unless one of you register it now Cheesy).

Also, I'm not such a big fan of online wallets. Kind of defeats the whole 'Bitcoin puts you in control of your money'. Then what you do with that control? Place it in other people's hands of course! Because f. logic.(sorry for the rant)
