So this works.  I now have about 10.3Gb of space in my dropbox.  I will probably recruit all of my friends to use this service.  Also note that the referrals come from @mailinator.com not that it matters to dropbox.  All 32 referrals were "completed".

A few have asked if you risk getting banned from dropbox. Not to my knowledge. Since I could have "stolen" your referral links from twitter or facebook and given you referrals without permission, the only risk is that you could lose the space again.

I have yet to hear of anyone who lost the space. If I do I will be certain to pass it along, as well as stop the service.

I can't pay back everyone in such a worst case scenario, however, I will pledge to pay back the people who bought in the ~last week.

Good News Everyone! Thread is open again. Over the last couple of days i've been testing, and it seems like I overreacted. I now filter the bad apples; and most referrals go through no problems. When I closed, i had a success rate of just 50%, now only 4/36 referrals are bad on average.
